Favourite Cheese?

^^^^ I absolutely adore mexicana on nachos! Combined with a blend of monterey jack or white chedder it is divine!

Might have to get myself a nacho dinner kit this weekend! *drools*

Sounds great! Depending on where you go, you can get some Mexicana that is actually quite hot! Its worth keeping an eye out for.

I'll bet you'll never guess what it is ;) Bloody expensive though in this country.

What does it taste like? Always wanted to give it a try, but a little afraid to delve in to blue cheeses.

Current favourite, but I discover new things so often that it really doesn't mean much! :p

Wensleydale and Cranberry is pretty good.

And now for a factoid!!!

"Back in the 1930’s the industrial depression made trading conditions difficult, leaving the creamery in significant debt to farmers and the dairy faced closure.
In 1935 local businessman Kit Calvert rallied support from local farmers, raising enough capital to rescue the only dairy producing cheese in the heart of Wensleydale. In 1966 Kit Calvert sold his now well established cheese business to the Milk Marketing Board"

So he effectively saved Wensleydale from extinction and he was my Great Great Uncle (my tenuous claim to fame but true nonetheless!).

A nice cheddar or Edam for me.

Anyone remember Lymeswold cheese from the 80's, terrible cheese in my opinion.

Changing direction, anyone know of any good cheesemongers around the country, anyone in Dorset should go to Lyme Regis.
Great one there 'Town Mill Cheese' has a great selection of cheeses.

Another fabulous cheese shop is 'Chester Cheese Shop', Chester, superb selection.

And here in Bath, we have 'The Fine Cheese Company', they do a nice 'Devon Oke' cheese.

I bought some of it last night from Asda, along with a bag of grated white chedder (sadly they didnt have any jack :( ) I shall be nomming on Old El Paso nachos within the next few days! :D

I typically either get it from Asda or Morrisons. Didnt know there were different varieties of it. The stuff I buy seems spicy enough for my taste buds anyway.

can never remember the name, but the slightly sour and falling apart one, always tryin this while on the set, always variety of cheeses there

Don't eat cheese that much. I usually just get the supermarkets brand mature cheddar or similar, for my 'everyday' cheese. But I really like Wensleydale cheese with cranberries. Yum!
