Favourite singleplayer levels of all time?

Having played COD4 recently again, I have to agree

Yeah it's a great level. Was actually better for me the second time around, as the first time I died about 2983475892435 times and it kinda took away from how good the level is as I was so annoyed :p

-Police Station level in Max Payne 2 - so many great in-jokes, from the chattering policemen (Officers Broussard and Miller, lol) right down to the guy in the toilet saying he'll "come out when it's done" :D People said MP2 was too short, but they must have been rushing through the game and missing out, I spent over an hour on that level alone.

Was that the Duke Nukem reference? Two fellas in the car park who share names with lead producers/designers on the DN project, chatting about how 'it'll be ready when it's ready'?

I'll never forget Dungeon Keeper, the snowy level with 4 libraries and 4 wizards. I'd play through the entire game just to get to that level.

Tekken 5 swamp stage when Bryan beats Xiaoyu - you can't beat a 6 1/2' laughing cyborg straddling an unconscious 16-year old schoolgirl and pounding her face into swamp water.

Freespace, when you first come across a Shivan Juggernaut, and Freespace 2 when you run in to... more of them. Also, Tachyon: The Fringe, when pirates steal the roof of the Cistine chapel.

I think that every level on the original Unreal was just draw dropping and there were so many stand out moments in that game mostly due to the atmosphere, lighting and most of all, the soundtrack.

Quite suprised no-one has mentioned System Shock 2 yet, but again its another whole game of greatest rather than a specific level i suppose.

I think pretty much every single level of the Call of Duty 4 campaign after the first few levels would be in there for me.

SPOILER

The level where you're getting away in the chopper and have to go and rescue the pilot, then the nuke goes off my face was literally like this -->

Also, the same for the last mission

Modern Warfare 2 SPOILER

The Gulag - The part where you rescue #627, again, my face was

Also, the snow mobile chase... Simply awesome.

The Modern Warfare games really made me appreciate how good a single player experience can be, as I was much more of a multiplayer gamer.

When I first played Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast. :p The graphics literally blew my mind to shreds.

Also, many moments in Half Life and Half Life 2, notably the driving section. I don't know what it was about the whole thing, but it just felt so good to play through. I was just admiring all of the awesome scenery and what not and just having a ball driving for so long.

Also, pretty much all of Vice City and San Andreas. :D I can't actually remember any specific moments, but I'm sure there were many in SA. :D

Its either the first Stalingrad level in Call of Duty 1 or the Omaha beach level from Medal of Honour Allied Assualt.

I suppose I could also throw in the Pearl Harbour level from MOH Pacific Assualt. :)

I love that level on cod2 where you start off in a clothes shop with the clothes dummies and then you pop bonces in the building opposite.
The haunted tracks on snes mario kart are the most fun you can have without a prostitute and a blowtorch.

Call of Duty
Call of Duty: United Offensive (expansion)
Call of Duty 2
Call of Duty 3 (Console only I think)
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty: World at War
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

:)

Are the earlier Call of Duty games worth playing through on single player now? I'm not too big on graphics and what not, so it's not too much of a problem for me. :)

Another vote for the COD4 sniper level. Was pretty impressed when up in the helicopter also - never seen anything like that before!! :)
Most of the HL2 levels were amazing for me -
Resident Evil 2 - can't think of areas specific, just thought it was an amazing game, same as the first Metal Gear Solid!

Really love playing the Special Ops (co-op) in MW2 - really well done!
