Favourite Type of Bread?

Gregg's Stotties, especially when filled with an entire fried breakfast.

One of the things I miss most about Newcastle.

According to wikipedia Waitrose do them!! Not down the road from me the bloomin' don't.

i make naan, ciabatta and regular bread (by hand, i don't have a bread maker)

fresh home made bread > everything else
straight from the oven spread with butter, mmmmm!

Butterzopf/butterknopf.

It trounces everything and anything in bread form that's available in the UK.

You have to make it yourself though, because nowhere sells it.

Polish Rye Bread Baltonowski (from Tescos).
Closely followed by Soda Bread.
Worst case scenario, Vogel Linseed.

None of that foamey, floppy hovis affair in my house.

When in northern ireland working away from home (powder coating plants etc)

The bread there, Not like bread for sandwichws, More like a darkish brown sweet cake textured bread (couldn't imagine even attempting to make a sarnie out of it)

We used to eat it by the bucketful while working in belfast/portadown (ballymena hotel/BnB on the crossroads made it fresh) , Absolutely beautiful, With lashings of butter on it

Dunno the name of it (was that nice i had a hotel save me 8 loaves and i brought it back for my family to try) Ahh happy days

Would love to know the name of it so i can find the recipe :)

Ciao

Tiger bread is nice stuff, I love crusty bread with a nice spread of butter.

Best bread for general use and I'm sure my fellow Scots will back me up on this one - Mothers Pride Scottish Plain. Freshly delivered to my local shop every morning, you can't get better.

I like the Tesco's extra special wholemeal Irish soda bread or infact most soda breads. An occasional milky roll with some President butter is good too.
