When I played F.E.A.R, I got really freaked out lol, so I'm guessing this will be the same. I'll just try and keep it off the mic

FEAR! God I stopped playing that game for a week LOL! That game is seriously freaky. When ever I would hear the static I would never move on lol.

I might have a Teamspeak for all of us to hop on and play. I will post it here when L4D is out, hows that sound?

jees these kids must be about 10.

i can remember my friend asking me if i had played fear, told him yea completed it, he said he couldnt play it because it scared the crap out of him. i told him it wasnt scary at all. he said my system wasnt up to scratch and my graphics card wasnt capable of all the fancy scare factor stuff. he had a 3200 athlon and a dual core 6600GT, i had an 6300 and 7900gto

has anyone every been freaked out by a game and stopped playing it for a bit. i cant say i have, Doom3 was the only game that made me jumpy but i played on and nearly completed it

Few bits in fear that made me jump a little, but was good fun, only reason I did not finish it is because I had to uninstall every codec on my PC to play it :o Never been freaked out by a game tbh though, and if I was I would still finish it :)

Yeah Doom 3, played it for an hour then took it off and have never played it since, that and the fact it was far too dark, also AVP same again, to scary.

Someone made a flashlight mod for doom3, so you can hold it and a gun

The exact same two for me!!! Starting playing doom 3 and found it uncomfortable so stopped(think thats the sign they did a good job!). Just started playing it again on a new rig and i'm quite enjoying it, I like the clostophobic feel it has to it.

I think it looses the suspense if you continually save the game, it sort of breaks it up! So I only try and use the autosaves at the start of each level// area.

Much the same way I think AVP was scarey due to lack of save points adding to the suspense.

Anyway i'm off to change my underpants and fire it up again

Damn. Got to look for that. As well as a savegame somewhere. Got to the alpha labs. After the bit on the train.

F.E.A.R was not scary in the slightest. Played it straight through. Have to say though it got a bit mundane after a while and it was SOOOOO short.

made me jump occaisingly, the hospital bit in the expansion pack was a bit creepy IMO

never played Doom 3, did complete Quake 4 which was a tiny bit disgusting

F.E.A.R scares the crap out of me, so does Doom lol. I still play on though, doesn't stop me.

Guess I'm just a pussy cat. :)

Just played it through for the first time a week or so ago, only scary thing I found was how poor visually it seemed or how juddery it was on my 8800 and vista :( I don't know how this managed to get such acclaim, it was only rather repetitive and boring. Compared to something like condemned on the 360 this is poor.

I was absolutly crapping myself when I was installing FEAR, after watching "The Ring".

It had a few moments that made me jump but that was it, what ruined it was the fact that you knew they were coming.

Now System Shock 2...
I was playing this when I was unemployed, so I was sleeping wierd hours.
4AM + Lights off + Headphones on + Meeting a midwife =

Only game that's ever made me turn on lights and vow only to play it during day light hours :o

Only game that really made me jump, was playing Half-Life 1 at say 2am, and a headcrab jumps out at you from nowhere.:(

:o

I've jumped a few times in games but never really thought they were scary and I've never even considered stopping playing a game because of a fear factor.

I think it was the hotel level in Vampire Bloodlines, well that made me a bit cautious in game but not scared.

Also AVP2 the marine missions.

Project zero crimson butterfly scared the crap outta me. I played it the first day at night. Which was a really bad idea.

I then played it in daylight all the time even then my heart was always beating really fast.

You lot obviously dont immerse yourselves in the game, probably just thinking of it as a game demaning your reactions to win. I find when I watch movies or games I get very 'into' them & almost emotionally involved at times putting myself in the place of the character, hence leading me into jumping 10 foot straight up into the air when playing Condemned, turning it off & hiding it on the shelf :)

It's not a bad thing either way, what's pretty bad is blanket statements assuming everyone is the same in their reactions or appraisal ;)

i wouldnt say i get scared, but when sumthing jumps @ you from what would appear to be nowhere, it does catch me off guard and make me jump a 'lil.

i think doom 3 is the only game thats made me do this also, mainly because you cant see half the game due to the lighting :p
