US: Fear the Walking Dead

Late to the party on this, just got prime.

It's a bit slow going and after reading this thread, people have already pointed out the same things that have annoyed them too - the only truck in the city to survive the riots, the drug addict son who is still wearing a dead man's clothes despite being at home etc.

However the most annoying thing by some distance is the mother... jeez her acting is terrible, if she stares off into space one more time for some dramatic pause!

The characters are all a bit wet tbh, the daughter isn't annoying and nice to look at least. The hispanic fella seems to have something about him too, but the rest... I love TWD and I'll give this a chance, but I'm up to episode 4 and I don't think it's been a great start.

The ending of this latest episode was stupidly comical, as usual people react in slow motion derp mode when it suits the script. :p

It is kind of interesting to see how Nick develops some good stuff but again so much contrived for storyline purposes that you simple can't just let slide :|

Their whole plan revolved around bags on heads. Why were bags being put on heads?!?!

I laughed at that - shame the writers couldn't either come up with a reason for it or do something that made sense - its that level of silly contrivance that killed the walking dead for me and likely going to do the same for this :| there is only so much I can look past before I can no longer suspend my disbelief.

The part that annoyed me was when Alicia stole the knife but didn't use it, also being over powered by an 8 month pregnant lady..

I hate everyone on this show, apart from probably Nick who actually seems to be the most level-headed person there. I only watch it for the fit daughter, and I still want to throw her overboard most of the time. So many terrible decisions, too many do gooders. I refuse to believe any group would be this retarded in real life. They're almost as bad as knobhead Rick and his group of failures on the other side of the country - and that's quite an achievement.

The only thing I was happy about was that cocky **** getting stabbed in the stomach, and then they go and ruin it by giving him medical attention and keeping him alive. Just what on earth...

I have started to watch this on Amazon Prime.

After watching The walking Dead up to (maybe a few episodes after I am not 100% sure) an episode
where they shoot the little girl in the barn
(S02 perhaps) I sort of lost interest. It's not that I didn't like it but there was something about it and it put me off. I started to rewatch TWD again with my wife a month or so ago but it didn't grab her. I did tell her it's a slow burner so we will give it a try again after S01 of FTWD.

Anyway. We are up to EP3 at the bit where the neighbour (zombie) walks in the family house and kills the dog, the family see the truck pull up.

This is as far as we have got and actually liking it so far. Yes there have been some stupid moments and a few things I thought were very silly like, as previously mentioned, the truck is the only one not trashed in the riot/looting.

Also, is it just me that is a little ****ed off about zombie shows and movies and the lack of knowledge of actual Zombies? Zombieland had that down and sorted and worked very well, iirc Shaun of the Dead universe knew about them too. It annoys me that no-one knows about zombies. EVER.

Personally if I were to make a TV show or movie I would have a build up like FTWD or even Dawn of the Dead and once someone realises the dead are walking or coming back to life then some one shouts "ZOMBIES" and then everyone suddenly remembers the movies they would have watched and tries out the methods of killing them. Thus resulting in a mass Zombie killing and survival show movie.

thats my way of doing it anyway. Sure I am not a screen writer but hey. It's my show:D
