Damn, our 81 year old billionaire CEO thinks we play golf when WFH, i kid you not. As of this week it's 3 to 4 days and based on his recent comments it'll likely be 5 days come Q1 2024. So now the cheapest option is annual ticket - £4,300. I haven't had to buy one since 2019 so was abit of a shock.Yup, the last one I bought was £7.6k so the next one will be ~£8k based on current inflation levels.
That’s the thing about increasing fares with inflation. In real terms the more expensive fares rise by several hundred £ every year.
Edit: some people I know spend as much time commuting across London as I do to London but their fare is a fraction of the cost as it’s all under TFL.
It's a proper **** move but London working has it benefits, the train cost is not one of them. The service is amazing though, very reliable, though was abit rubbish 7 or 8 years ago.
