how do you make the food distinctive ? often they don't see (brown) bread fragments
.... courtesy of thread had some chopped up meat fat offcuts which will not contrast against the frost.

I put some water and feed out for the birds today. After about 30 mins the food was gone and the plastic water bowl dragged somewhere else in the garden. They obviously enjoyed it. I have restocked them.

Shouldn't feed them bread. It bulks their stomachs up and they don't get much nutrition from it although they feel full.

Stick to high calorie feeds like seeds, nuts and fat balls.

OK didn't know that about bread
the way they erratically swap from one piece of food to another - short term memory issues - is always amusing

cleared a section of snow on the paving, put some raw finely chopped fat pieces on a plastic lid, all I saw was one dove turn it's nose up, and it all remains ... for nightime residents.
