Not supposed to be a professional logo in anyway but just for a personal side-project.

Im not an expert designer in any way but i do do some design work.

I actualy reay like it. The font is the best and good choice of colours. I like the icon but maybe the tie is a bit too big?

I really like it too, however it's probably not entirely functional in its present form (takes up a lot of space).

I'd look at trying to incorporate the blue tie into the 'i' in creative, so you have the illustration sitting on top of the text in a neat little space.

I like it as well, it's simple and clean looking.
I agree with above though in that it takes up too much space at the moment making it pretty much unusable.
If it were my logo, I'd try compacting it some.

Just a quick example to show what I mean... (and I wouldn't be happy with the way it is in my image if it were my logo, needs more time spent)

Thanks for your comments guys.

So is this what you mean?

The way it was laid out in the OP was for an ad. I must have pasted the wrong url and didn't bother to check the post. :p

Looks promising mate, although I must admit the name to me sounds like a designers blog/community (than a personal site).

Really like the logo though, was going to comment on the alignment of the testing site before you mentioned it too!

The logo is, in my opinion, brilliant - simple, understated but really good.
My opinion probably isn't worth toffee though, I have trouble with crayons!

The compacted logo design you posted looks great, simple and effective in my opinion. Your WIP site looks ok so far too, your coding at the moment is mostly valid, HTML is fine. Some errors in the CSS although I'm sure you already know that. Good luck.

Thanks a lot guys. :)

The logo went through 10 major changes and many pages of my sketchbook. :p

Pleased to hear that so far, my coding is holding up as it's all been self taught and has been a bit of a headwrecker. The only thing I'm still not sure about is getting something to auto centre at any resolution/browser size.

As for the name, this is something that concerned me also, but I've got something in mind to tackle that. :)

For the centre thing, make a #wrapper/container div and set the margin: 0 auto;

Google is your friend on that one :D

No prob.

btw, just showing you this to make sure you're aware there's another site out there with pretty much the same name.

http://creativenerds.co.uk/

Maybe you know about this already? I must have seen this site before, probably why I said it sounded like a design blog ;)

Yep saw that. :)

And I see it this way....

1. They're not a competitor
2. They're probably already fairly well known

SO... if someone searches for CreativeNerd or CreativeNerds, then I'll be there too, given me a little boost in getting a little extra exposure for free. :D

Something I learned while studying business, but I already had the domain before realising there was a CreativeNerds. :p

Aye. Well I don't really know anyone who'd creativenerd for a graphic designer (unless you told them to ;)), but hey - could get you a few extra hits.

They probably don't have any copyright on the name or anything, but still best to be aware :)
