Feek's Friday Beer, gin (and whatever you happen to be drinking on a Friday night) Thread

2.7%!? I thought Rebellion IPA (my local brewery, they do great beer) was weak at only 3.7%. Lovely colour though. :)

No picture but I'm just finishing off a bottle of St Austell's Proper Job. One of my favourites. Got some Tribute in the fridge too.
Rebellion ipa is a decent ale, but 100% agree it's just weak for an ipa imo.

Have you checked out Stardust brewery in maidenhead, they do some pretty nice ales and some traditional bitters.Well worth a look if your local.

IPA makes a decent session ale. But I prefer the monthly specials they do as they're obviously different each month and they're all 4.2% which is more like it. Zebedee and Blonde are my favourite at this time of year.

I'll check them out. :)

Not Friday. But kwak tonight.

Looks like: science experiment.
Tastes like: brown sugar.

Is that a half yard glass? I got one for my 21st birthday. Finally got chucked 6 months ago 22 years later :(.
Currently drinking Rheinbacher Pilsner from aldi by far my favourite cooking lager . (After drinking £6.35 a pint lager in center parcs I need to go to the cheap stuff for a bit!!!!!) (I love IPA but plays hell with my guts)

Yup it's the specific Kwak one as well, designed for the beer.

Next up was very similar quite light and refreshing but less citrus and fruity, both beers have been perfect for a nice summers evening

Chavalier Cognac VS (2 years) for me tonight. It's an Aldi special but tbh tastes as nice as VS (and some VSOP) twice the price or more. I only bought it because it has some very good reviews and it's only £15 a bottle. They do a 32 year old (1985) Napoleon brandy too that's supposed to be superb, but damned if i can find it in stock anywhere.

This lively and aromatic classic Cognac is packed with dry, fruity flavours. Oak aged, in accordance with prevailing regulations for a minimum of two years, which has been expertly distilled and blended in France.

One double, properly warmed and enjoyed. Then another double or two in a large glass and cut down with some lemonade to sip while watching crap on Plex and YouTube. So à votre santé!

As a Guinness drinker I'm liking this - it's rich and strong tasting, with loads going on. It's not quite as bitter and liquorice-y as Guinness original, and not quite as strong as Foreign Extra.

A pint of Tarka (sort of lager ish but nice unlike most lagers), a pint of Jail which is my go to ale finished with a pint of Proper Job (my other go to!). My local kicks ass.

Never been much of a drinker, but I'm gonna try joining in the friday beer drinkage.
Having a Leffe atm. Not bad but not great either, looking for suggestions for something else to try next week.

What sort of thing are you into?

Weizen/wheat beer is an acquired taste. I like one but couldn’t drink it all night.

I’m currently having an Old Speckled Hen and will shortly be moving on to a glass (or two) of Laphroaig.

First of the night is Daintree Mangoo Smootie IPA and its absolutely spot on, bitter tropical and citrusy. Looks like a glass of Fanta! Will be having this again.
