My Beer/Lager whatever you want to call it entry. No where near the quality of your beers Feek, but its about what you can get your hands on here in the Netherlands. Exuse the terrible resizing.

I was expecting some friends over tonight so that explains the mini-keg but because the unbelievably terrible weather they couldnt make it here (at let me tell you, getting to the albert-hiend and back was a nightmare)

First off the Heineken Mini-Keg at: First off i'm not a big Heineken fan but its incredable value for your money if its your thing, especially if you have people over. 5 litters of it for 13 euros. Its not bad, much better than some lagers i've had, but as I said before its not my favorite. Tastes better than it tastes from a can, but from a bottle and a real tap it is not nearly as good. Overal, great value, but I cant say I love it. (btw, made through about a 1/5th of it and i'm saving the rest for another time)

Next up the Palm. Two bottles left over from last night. Definitly one of my favorite lagers. It goes down very easily and the taste really grows on you. At 5.2 percent its slightly stronger than the hieneken. As I said before its one of my favorite lagers and I'd highly recomend it, at the moment it is only surpassed by the "russian beer" (7% and it is good :D) sold at several of the bars in the Hauge, which I have yet to find a store that sells it.

The Murphy's Irish Red: Havent had any of it yet tonight, but from past experience I can say it is my favorite beer (or whatever you guys would call it) that i've yet to taste. It isnt as easy drinking as these lagers but it goes down easily enough for me. But I do know plenty of people who cant stand it, and plently that love it. I've yet to meet one thats in between).

Thwaites Strong Ale

A noticable and pleasant aroma as I popped the lid off this one.

"Co-Op Strong Ale is expertly brewed for the Co-Op at Daniel Thwaites Star Brewery in Blackburn.
The ale's rich, malty, full body and lightly hopped finish makes it the perfect accompaniment to game and strong cheeses"

5% and very dark this really does have a strong and nice aroma. It's effectively another own label beer. After the smell of it I was expecting a fairly strong flavour but it's actually not that full. I had all the expectations but it fails to deliver. An average, even bland taste. It's OK, but certainly nothing special and not a beer I'd consider buying again.

/edit - An update. When I take a slurp of this, I get some flavour but it vanishes almost straight away. Absolutely no aftertaste at all. Not exciting.

I was in coop earlier and fancied a beer(can only have one as am oncall) I got one of the bumble bee ales, it was very nice gonna have to get some more next time I am in there!

Hmm, I missed the comment about the Monty Python beer - these three bottles are on the top shelf here....

I've drunk the Grail and the farmost bottle of Pig but the middle bottle is real - And many years out of date ;) I don't think I'll be supping that one.

Gold Miner

Another 'brewed for the Co-Op' beer.

"A hoppy, refreshing, golden coloured beer brewed by hand in the Royal Forest of Dean"

It looks like a bad homebrew. Slightly cloudy and quite light. This 5% beer is totally aroma free and it's not much better than that in taste. Very bland, very boring. Not hoppy at all but it has a tang that I can't place.

A bad choice. Don't buy it.

I poured that last one away. It looked and tasted like a bad home brew with a really nasty aftertaste :(

Now I'm oin the White Shield and the bottle description is far too long to type!

It's a bottled live 'pale ale' which is far from pale. A 5.6% brew with a best by date just three days away.

Nice head upon pouring and a rather nice flavour. It's quite malty. Good.

i happen to take offense to that as i work in somerfield....

I feel for ya man :(

You ever had a banana beer Feek? My mate was saying it was very nice but I've never seen it. Can't remember the exact name, but it was certainly banana something-or-other....

Best? Best just because it's the strongest, or best because it actually tastes the best?

I've just opened it.

Yada yada yada, absolute classic, dry fruity, yad ayada

6.4% of live ale.

Wow. It doesnt taste as though it's that strong. As has been the trend tongight, no real noticable aroma and in fact not a huge flavour. I was expecting quite a sweet brew but it's far from that. Not a very dark beer, the taste is not overpowering but it's noticably strong. I'd agree with the description and call it fruity.

Good.
