Just got a phonecall of a barclays person, very nice on the phone, and it was a women she had a nice voice... but she was asking me if id be interested in a new service...

i said no, and the way she asked why i wouldnt be sounded really like upsetting, like id been nasty for saying no... i felt guilty saying that i was interested and i hadnt the time to talk about it...

:( i know its just some stupid call centre wanting to rip people off with "new" services... but ive been left with an awful feeling... i need a slap

Get a grip.

If you were like me and just hung up when you get these calls you would be feeling suicidle at that rate!

I just hang up these type of calls at out uni house. I really don't care what they think, As soon as I hear I'm calling from xxxxxx marketing = phone down.

wouldn't you think that they put on the "surprised / upset" voice to make you feel guilty to make you stay on the line?

All places do that!

Rich

Its all a scam they do this so you feel sorry thats what there trained to do * slaps with a wet fish*

i have to say i've had a couple of calls that sound vaugely tempting, infact i got my last mobile contract cause of the deal i was offered over the phone. BUT i point blank refuse to buy stuff off these people, and will demard to know where they get my number from.

If you buy off them your just re-enforcing the idea that telemarketing works, which can only lead to more annoying calls. Tell them politely and firmly that you don't buy stuff over the phone and request they remove you from their database :)

I took out an insurance policy through Barclays through one of these.

I was all set to say 'no ta' til she mentioned insurance, so I thought I'd hear her out, asked her a few questions, and took it.

Soon as she said I'd definitely 100% be covered for riding MX, I took it.
