I get a lot of calls from phone companies asking me if i want to change operators.
As soon as they've said 'hi im bob from companyX' i allways cut them off and say im not interested'. Usually works.

Trust me, my wife used to work for Barclays ringing people up (although it was for customer satisfaction surveys rather that selling something...) and I assure you the woman you spoke to was probably just happy you didn't start shouting abuse at her
