Feeling a bit guilty

I'd definitely go for £10 to the chap who found your wallet, £20 to charity and £10 for yourself (reward yourself £10 for not keeping £40!) :D

WTF, the machine would have swallowed the money back, but you decided to take it instead?

No wonder you feel guilty......it's ****ing theft.

If someone had left an unchained bike next to the cash machine would you have taken that too?

go to a bank change it for 40quids worth of pennies. Go to top of building, chuck pennies off build allowing people to scramble for it......

on second thought they might scramble for another reason :p

Its happened to me when I was drunk and in a hurry, also when I have had problems with the machine breaking and not giving me the money (slot thing didn't open).

Actually try it with a £10 or if you can find a machine which does £5 one of them.

This only happens after a small amount of time not taking the money, You couldnt just go back to machine days later and try feeding the money into it, it wouldnt take it and also how would it know who's account it has come from?

I would just keep it, Probably fate, or if you do feel that bad give it to charity or someting.

Erm........do you think I meant that you could open the machine and put money back in? Bloody hell, ofcourse it only after a short period of time.

The most easiest thing to do, if you want to give it back is go to the bank where the cashpoint was, or if it is was freestanding ATM, take down the ATM code and phone number, give them a call, explain the amount you found, and the rough time that you found it, and they would more than likely be able to trace it back.

Because it clearly would have been the person before you went to withdraw your money.

Thief! I bet it was a little old lady who got blown away by a freak gust of wind just as she was about to grab her money. She'll be eating Winalot for the rest of the week. You heartless beast. :(

That's my new thing learnt for today, I was previously unaware machines did this

I left £100 in a cash machine a couple of years ago, went back 2-3 mins later (nobody around, 2am) and it was gone, but never re-appeared in my account :(.

Give £20 to the wallet guy, £15 to charity and buy a sandwich for lunch.
It's only £40, not like you ram raided a shop and stole the contents of the till.

in all fairness how can you be silly enough to walk away without taking the cash ?

I mean why did you even go to the ATM in the first place
