Feeling a bit guilty

Hand the £40 into the Police and tell them where you found it. The Police have procedures for lost property and I think you will legally get to keep the £40 if no-one claims it within a certain timeframe.

My God man, why would you do that.

Every time I hand something into the Police you get interrogated.

My mates has found a few 'dangerous' things while metal detecting before, such as an un-used 4 inch machine gun bullet...lol...Being the decent guy he is, he hands it into the police, like they're supposed to.

Next thing he's being questioned "where did you find it", "Why didn't you leave it in the ground" etc etc.

Actually, when I was younger I found a WHOLE bag of lottery scratch cards, literally...probably over a thousand of them. So I handed them in, and nearly got a damn good seeing to.

That's my new thing learnt for today, I was previously unaware machines did this

The correct financial term is NOM NOM.

Just go and get your wallet and keep the money, can't believe theres much discussion really. ~

I would thank the guy, give him a tenner for his trouble (costs :D) then spend the rest on the mrs and a bottle of wine to guarantee much sexy time.

Just realised, our other halfs are like hookers, we only get guaranteed sex when we buy them presents or take them out. Hookers are cheaper and do WHATEVER ;) you want :D

WTF, the machine would have swallowed the money back, but you decided to take it instead?

No wonder you feel guilty......it's ****ing theft.

If someone had left an unchained bike next to the cash machine would you have taken that too?
Sorry but lol at this reply. You need to chill.

in all fairness how can you be silly enough to walk away without taking the cash ?

I mean why did you even go to the ATM in the first place

I have done it before and it's easy enough to do if you're thinking about something else. Luckily the person behind me wasn't a thief and decided to hand me the money.

I refuse to believe that so many people in this thread wouldnt have taken the cash.

I'm amazed at how many people would take it. If someone dropped £40 in front of you would you take that? In both cases returning the money would take you a few seconds, either waiting for the cash machine to swallow it or going after them.

You've basically just stolen £40 from someone, and you have no idea what their situation is or how much they need that money.

Indeed eh :)

I had someone just last Friday walk away from the cashpoint while leaving they're money hanging out...I was just about to walk to the cashpoint itself when she came running back "WAaaaaaaaah!!!" going "ooh I nearly walked off without my money!".

And why are people shocked some people wouldn't take it? I said in a thread earlier today, I found a massive bag of un-used scratch CARDS once. So probably a good reels worth or so...I handed that back as well.

Shock horror :p

Pocket it. Have you seen the state of the economy? It'll pay for a night on the ale or your weekly shopping. Charity begins at home!

Just leave it at the machine for the next guy to deal with then,

I'm sure he wont need help on a forum to decide what to do with it.

Spent £7.50 on a bottle of red wine as a thankyou to the guy. Gave £30 to MS Society as charity and spent £2.50 on a pint at lunch time to congratulate myself for evening things out.
