This has enraged me this morning:

https://www.worthingherald.co.uk/ne...r-support-as-police-make-fifth-arrest-3191417

Bloke turns up to confront a group of 14/15 year olds bullying his 11 year old (throwing him to the ground) and gets knocked unconscious and smacked on the head with a solid object. He is now in a life-threatening condition. The perps are bailed with conditions and these teens allegedly have history of causing problems.

This is a bit of a shocker after the story of the guy who had his house torched, almost murdering him and his family after he spoke out about anti-social behaviour.

I'm not sure what the solution to these feral sub-humans and their behaviour is apart from the normally unreasonable proposition of communities getting together to take matters into their own hands. My emotional side would say hold the parents accountable as well but I've seen situations where parents are terrified of their own kids and have no control over them.

I suppose it'll be interesting to see if they get appropriate punishment or whether the joke of a justice system lets them off because of some sob story. :(

Anyway apart from a rant, there are some fundraiser links on that article so I thought maybe people might feel like throwing a few quid in as well.

I doubt much will happen, the same thing happened in my town except they killed the guy. Look at how pathetic the sentences were :

.
Four teenagers have been sentenced for their part in the death of a man who was beaten as he walked home at night.

John Dabell, 25, died last April near Linby, Nottinghamshire after the youths smashed his skull with a piece of wood.

Tanya Townsend, 16, Gary Willett, 18, Paul Simons, 18, and a 17-year-old who cannot be named, pleaded guilty to manslaughter at Nottingham Crown Court.

The four were given terms of detention ranging from 18 months to three and a half years.

Mr Dabell, from Victoria Street in Hucknall, was attacked after he confronted the teenagers about starting a fire.

He was hit on the head with the stick and then kicked and beaten by the four youths.

Judge Michael Pert said Mr Dabell's death was "a tragedy for the deceased and the family that he left behind".

He said he hoped the sentences "would send a message about violence" to young people.

Absolutely disgusting, just imagine what the whole experience is going to do to his son/daughter mentally. Even if their Dad pulls through, they're left with the image of their father not being able to help them and getting beat up by kids :(

Thing is, something broad-reaching should have been done after the Sophie Lancaster case, I really thought that was so shocking that it would have encouraged the police and authorities to nip this sort of thing in the bud, but here we are.

These animals definitely don't deserve the protection of anonymity - totally agree with trying them as adults.

Tameside is horrendous for it.
They rule the streets and now lockdown is over we have it all to look forwards to again.
Hands down pants, hoods and thanks to covid masks too.
The underclass is utterly rife, they have nothing so can loose nothing either.
It’s a problem that seems to be totally ignored by the clowns that are supposedly running this country.

That's an interesting point too - lockdown has been amazing for me. I've spent a lot of time venturing through woodland and parks on my own that I would have been a bit apprehensive about before. Mostly because of the scummers that like to hang around there.

I'm hoping they don't return, or that COVID acts as some sort of natural selection, wiping them out :D

As for the "underclass" - there are plenty of decent people I'd consider "chavs" who have just had a bit of a rough deal, but with the particular subgroup we're on about, maybe they should be recycled into biofuel to benefit society. :D

I think we need a Dutch style benefits system that subsidises lower paid work into a living wage.
Remove universal credit for doing universally nothing.

I partially blame the privatisation of Probation Services, and the ending of Troubled Families programme.

Once someone has started a life of crime, it's very unlikely that they will change. So a great deal of focus was put into working with known families to prevent their children getting into a life of crime. Unfortunately, it's not the kind of work you can easily provide short term statistics on it's success - hence once Probation was privatised - and as private companies wre running them - any work not focusssed on achieving their short term targets was suspended.

Similarly with the Troubled Families programme. Trying to measure the success of a programme that prevents things from happening is virtually impossible. But I fear we're now seeing the effects of it not running.

I work at an alternative education provision which also does a lot of youth engagement work (though I'm just the IT Manager, i don't do any of the great work the staff do) and all of what you said sounds depressingly similar to our situation in Bristol. Lots of services and funding has been cut which leaves a lot of the young people who were already at the tipping point going the wrong way and once that starts it's just a vicious cycle.

But now with the funding being at pretty much non existent levels we're going to see a rise in this anti-social behaviour and young people generally being led astray. Then in a few months time everyone will complain and say they're destined to be that way without trying to help them and the teachers/youth workers will be expected to perform even more on even less.

This has been building for years, nobody is allowed to discipline their children anymore because of the do-gooders saying that any child who is smacked will grow up to be a psychopathic murderer and that has raised a generation of breeders who can't/won't take responsibility for their darling little children who are let loose to just behave how ever they want, the liberals have also diluted the police authority to a point where they cannot do their jobs and sentencing is more like a wheel of fortune gameshow.

Liberals are to blame again, right...
