Is this true, any sources
Maybe I'm stating the very, very, very obvious, but I think it's time Ferguson stopped doing this, he asks for trouble everytime he comments on a ref as he always pushes it
What did Fergie actually say that was so bad?
So when exactly can you talk about a ref?
Yeah but we all know what Ferguson is doing when he talks about a ref nowadays, all he does is try and manipulate them, if he was speaking completely innocently about them fine, he always has an agenda though which is normally not complimentary
This is what he said, quoting the BBC:
"We are getting the best referee, there is no doubt about that," he said at the time.
"But (getting a bad decision) is definitely our big fear.
"We have the players to do it all right. We just hope it's our turn for a little bit of luck"
It's not about what he's assumed to be doing. There's a simple rule in place not to speak about the ref before the game and he broke it. If they didn't charge him, people would say they were ignoring it when he broke the rules.
It will only be a slap on the wrist and a fine anyway.
I remember Moyes speaking about the ref before an FA Cup semi-final against United but he never got charged for it.
Unless it's a new rule they've brought in.

So what punishment are we expecting then, 5 game ban, how about 10 just for good measure.
OH NOES THE MEDIA IS CLEARLY OUT TO GET FERGUSON WITH THIS SMALL FINE AND NO BAN THE HORROR
Also, should the media be stopped from asking these type of questions or should the manager just refuse to answer.
I think the point is that there is a rule you don't talk about refs before the game. It doesn't matter what he said, he could have said he thinks Webb has a nice front garden, the point is that you don't talk about them.
Conspiracy? nah. Incompetence and attempting to shift attention? Hell yes.
Yeah interesting how Carlo was never mentioned by them in the first place isn't it...
Perhaps they found out on the internet.
SAF 'plays the [mind] game' more than anyone else in the league. I'm glad the FA are at least showing the pretence that they are standing up to him.
He knew the rules. He broke them. He got punished. (Albeit only with a warning.)
