Fergie's Book

I agree, I think it's controversial for the sake of it. Said it in the banter thread but he doesn't come across as someone who is a fan of the club he managed for 25 years. Then again considering he is responsible for the glaziers being there I shouldn't be surprised.

I was joking, some of it could be alright, I've only read the controversial extracts of it but it would seem controversial for the sake of it seems right.

United fans already have more songs for Moyes than I ever heard for Fergie, never thought it was a close relationship and would probably agree he is more about himself than united.

Angry Scot saying an angry Irishman (who lets be honest is also a bit of a *****) caused problems in the team - sounds about right.

as said without the sensational bits it wouldn't sell as many copies

so lets looks at some of the "revelations"

Roy Keane is a aggressive, nasty man, Beckham thinks he's top dog and Rooney is a bit thick

can't wait for the follow up book, "Bears **** in the woods" :p

I don't think it's that controversial & I think that a lot has been left out, which is interesting. Anyone would think he went out and won all those games on his own.

It also seems that Fergie has an odd idea of loyalty.

Well, I thought 'My Story' and 'A Duchess's Journey to Find Herself' were self-indulgent, whiny piles of drivel, but that 'Ballerina Rosie' and to a lesser extent 'Skiing From The Inside' were pure exhibitions of artistic ingenuity and literary excellence...

Oh, wait, you meant the other Fergie! :D :p

Sounds a bit boring tbh.

I liked his comments about Sunderland (uppity bunch of wasters who are just a minor hindrance and of no real relevance) but he's probably said things ten times worse about Newcastle which I haven't heard yet :p

My initial impression after hearing the stuff in the news and on sports discussions is that he's just a bit of a petty ***^ trying to make a few more quid before he pops his clogs.

Any reasons given for his unwillingness/inability to buy midfielders?

Probably skipped over it, just like the falling out with the previous owners and the Glazers among other things.

I don't think it's controversial at all, most of what has been said was already known, so it's not bought much new to the table, although I will sit down with it properly at some point.

I don't understand why Newcastle fans get so obsessed with Sunderland. Have Newcastle won anything in the last 50 years?

It's about as interesting a rivalry as Cambridge United and Peterborough ;)
