Ferguson and Vidic win Premier League Manager and Player of the Year

Yet, he assumes the post is towards him without reading it.

I find it funny that almost every point Gimp made was argueing against a point I never made.

IE Vidic sucked, Hodgson should get manager of the season, Kompany should get player of the season. Then asking dumb questions like how many reds would Kompany have got suggesting it was as many or more than Vidic when firstly we all know that isn't true and secondly I'd specifically stated that he got away with MORE than ANYONE ELSE. If I'd said he got away with a lot, okay, but I'd already clearly stated that I thought he got away with a lot more than Kompany.

If a bunch of people on this forum could actually learn to read properly it would be helpful all around.

Oh, and the lazy "he's using stats" argument is rubbish. Never once have I ever claimed stats tell the whole story, they do tell PART of the story, and I also tell the other part aswell, not difficult. The vast majority of the time I use stats to counter someones ridiculous argument of say player X is the bestest every player and our best player this season, Nasri, 10 goals, no assists, 1 goal in 4 months, rubbish.

In a post about player of the season DM STILL ends up talking about how Nasri is the worst footballer on the planet.

On topic I personally wouldn't have given it to Vidic, I think Nani had a better season.

At the end of the day the reason why he has won it is because United won the league and he has been the cement that has held the defence together when Rio has been absent and Smalling has had to cover.

You could say Nani or Hernandez are more worthy but both of these haven't been in form throughout the season. Hernandez only picking up in form in the last few months and Nani gone a bit off the boil over the last few months.

The only other player I would have given it to from United's team is VDS.

How is that relevant? They won the PFA awards, which are just a popularity contest anyway.

No they didnt. One was the football writers award was it not?

Of the three awards for player of the year that ive seen Parker won one, Bale won one and Vidic won one. In that company i think Vidic more than holds his own.

We can all name players we think have been the best but that is equally irrelevant. As i say, i think Vidic has been excellent, he captains the champions, he led the defence in Rios absence and he helped develop Smalling on these grounds i can see why it is at the very least understandable why he has been chosen.

On a personal level i cant think of a player who has had more impact on his team this season than Hernandez and on that basis i genuinely think he has a case for POTY but really it is such a subjective thing that all you can hope for is to understand why the winner got the award. In the case of Parker and Vidic - yes, Bale - not so much.
