Ferrari Luce EV

Reading the reactions to this and looking at Ferrari's plummeting share price... Someone is getting whacked today.

Who/what is this for?

It just looks like an extremely expensive toy car, that has badly tried to mirror the current design trend of retro/futuristic looks that always end up looking like ****.

Does it do anything special? Range isnt that amazing. Yes it is fast, but then so are a lot of premium dual motor EVs....so what is it for (other than people who have far too much money and are constantly looking for any way to spend it...)

I feel like this is the broader problem for brands like Ferrari trying to bring an EV to market - what is the USP of a Ferrari EV? What is it doing differently?

It can't rely on some of the things that made it stand out in the ICE arena, there's no exclusive Ferrari developed V8/V12 etc. and to me it feels like they're a little bit lost. Nobody would care if the motor or battery was 'Ferrari developed' because it's not going to be perceptable to the end user like an engine or gearbox were.

Can they (and others like Lamborghini etc.) do enough with the rest of the car to really make it stand out from the crowd? It seems like anyone can throw the core components together now, big battery, 1000hp motors etc. so these brands are going to need to find a new way to stand out. I don't think Ferrari have found the right direction for that yet.

Unfortunately, they need something EV to get their fleet emissions down below where they need to be.
Not sure why they didn't just EVify (is that a word) the Perro-sanguine and be done with it.

Bring back Montezemelo. He'd have the people responsible for this disaster shot.

If they wanted to do that, they should start an off-shoot brand and just sell generic EVs with an ipad mashed to the dash for 30-50k, like everyone else. The masses would lap it up and convince themselves it's just like a Ferrari.

Couldn't they at least make an EV sports car/roadster? Even MG have one of those.

I don't see the point in them making just another EV SUV/coupe on stilts like everyone else.

Seen several commentators liken it to a 2026 Leaf with a body kit and now I can't unsee that.

Looks like an I-Pace from the front and side. I like how it looks but I’m biased as I leased an I-Pace for 3 years and loved how it looked.

I do find it odd looking inside but still nicer than any Tesla interior.

You're not wrong. It's even the same colour!
Poor Enzo must be spinning in his grave. Seriously, they should bin it off and stick to proper supercars.

Maybe they are going to harness the power of Enzo spinning in his grave to power this car...

I think it is the similar colours which partly sells the comparison.
