I would have loved to be around during the 'glory days'. I've spoken to a few random people before that haven't missed a Crasher night in over 7years!

I may sound melodramatic but I doubt I'll ever experience anything like those 5 years again.
I'm glad to see people are still as enthusiastic about it all now as us lot were back then. Who knows once my partner drops our first-born nest year - if there's still GC nights on, I may revisit the old place for old times sake.

And this would be the reason why my hearing is proper dodgy.
The sound system in there is nowhere near as good as it used to be - when the bass bins were all up the sides and underneath the DJ booth, i'd spend all night right up there around them on the platform (don't know if that's still there?) and come out at half six in the morning with horrendous ringing in one ear and partial deafness in the other.
I remember the re-opening night after GC had been raided back in 2001 i think, Scott Bond and Tiesto back to back, Bondy kept hitting the limit on the bass bins and they kept cutting out, we could hear down on the floor but Bondy couldn't - Ben Thompson who was the promoter back then was stood in the back of the DJ booth waving his arms about trying to get Bondy to turn it down. Driving back home after me and my mate didn't say anything to each other 'cos we couldn't hear a damn thing.
I've been to one GC night since it was refitted and the acoustics had changed down in the main room - I couldn't tell you how but it didn't sound right - it certainly wasn't as bassy and there was some sharpness missing on the mid and treble, something like Salt Tank - Eugina, just didn't have the clarity in the quieter moments that the old system had. It sounded artificially rounded off, too well rounded a noise if that makes any sense.

Andyp - so true mate mine are ringing more and more now
and am getting a few pains in my left one.
2 weeks aga was @ Syndicate and they decided it would be
fun to test the limit of the system, i happened to be infront
of a set of speakers - wasn't nice
