ok, fair enough, u can not name a date and place where this hasn't happened, but there are a lot more murders nowadays than there were say 100 years ago.
This is probably due to the influence of the media with games such as grand theeft auto, rappers singing about murders etc

Theres gonna be a few more killed near me if those chavs outside my window don't shut up.

In the last 10 years there have been 2 murders near me, one was a fight which obviously went wrong when someone was punched and other was actually a mate of mines dad, who was stabbed just down the road from me.

Although, a lot of you are going on about "for fun" and some even blaming the media and games (heathens) neither of these were because of that.

Proportionately, the population has boomed. Anyone got figures of murders per capita (excuse the pun)? Just in the capital will doo (Oh! Again!)

I'd actually say that I feel there are less per capita now than in 1900 due to advances in policing, forensics and public knowledge of both leading to a lot of people actively choosing not to go through with such acts for fear of justice and retribution.
