Hey guys,

Just wanted to ask a few questions concerning my new Samsung 830 256GB...

1. (i.) Do I need to update the firmware?
(ii.) If so, how? I downloaded the 3 files from Samsung's site in the "firmware" tab of downloads but couldn't seem to see a way to actually do it...

2. I bought an OcUK bracket but appear to need new screws to fit in my Antec 1200 correctly. I just wondered if anyone had any experience with the screws I would actually need to do this?

Hey mate,

Samsung toolbox has firmware update goodness. Mine came with latest firmware and so didn't need to do anything.

For the bracket just use either cdrom screws or hdd screws, depending on which size fit.
 
Thanks, I'll have a go with the samsung toolbox, see how I get on... (at work atm too :P)

I'll have to have a look for something longer for the screws. The cages on the 1200 are pretty thick. :P

I mainly was hoping someone would have a specific suggestion for the actual size to go and ask for, but I'm kind of stretching with that I think...
 
Do you not have spare screws with your case mate? Most of them will fit with those?

Failing that - ask ocuk which screws fit the caddy in their customer support forum. 5UB replies really quickly there.
 
I took 3 screws from the 3 other hard drives in my case, but they were too large, and didn't go through the holes on the bracket :(

I'll try asking CS, though thanks!
