When you buy something you have BOUGHT it, not brought it.

Look at the word, there's no R in it.

Anyone that writes it with an R should be instantly banned from life.

But surely you can understand what the person means when they say "Look at these new shoes I just brought."? It's a mistake on their part but verbally you can understand it.

The most gruesome mistake this forum sometimes does is confuse 'have' with 'of', other than that, never heard people confuse brought with bought, perhaps a typo?
