Five us went out tonight for a few quiet drinks, upon leaving a drunk guy walked up to my friend and smahed him in the face for no reason -he went straight to the floor; with an insta-blackeye, about 30 people saw it happen.

Bouncers, the manager and CCTV saw it also

(happened about 5 mins after I left so no pics yet..)

I hate pricks like this, cardiff ***** scumbags

He's going back tomorrow to speak with the manager...

He looks funny because he's Canadian

Nasty. Sorry to hear it. But what will speaking to the manager (of the bar/club) achieve? Or is he looking for CCTV evidence to report it to the police? Would have done that at the time to be honest.

Hope he's ok.

I know the manager of the pub next door (who was also there), the manager of the pub said to us 'come back tomorrow to sort it out'

Sorry, confused. He's just been assaulted for no reason. Why wouldn't he phone the police straight away and instead go back the next day to the pub next door?

We had all had about 6 drinks each, and most of us have work in the morning, it's not as if he got stabbed/(required a 999 call)

The sooner the Police are involved the sooner any CCTV can be seized.

It was a punch no one was dramatically injured, why bother involving the police? Take it on the chin and move on.

Why would you want to do that?

This guy might just go round punching random people. Surely you'd want him to get caught. I'm not saying the police will put a lot of resources in to it but reporting the incident isn't going to hurt more than that black eye.

. Definately report it though, as has been mentioned, he probably has done this in the past and will likely continue to do so if allowed

My dad was recently attacked in a similar fashion, the police said they couldn't do anything except tell the attacker to behave himself as it was his first offence. Same with the second offence, only third time can anything be done.

So basically you have free reign to assault someone you dont like apparently.
