FFX / X2 on steam

You can get it for £12 on GMG by using the code WATCH25.

Bargain. £16 was already a great price.

Damn it, thats the final straw.

Purchased and installing

I've probably put 1,000 hours into FFX already, so lord knows what I;m going to gain by playing it again lmao

£11.99 was too tempting!

Played the first hour, runs great even with the 30fps. I'm not noticing it as much as I would in other games.

Original soundtrack <3

Played up until you leave Besaid, so not much but it took a fair few hours to download at a mammoth 34gb!

Running well, higher resolution textures look amazing. My only gripe is the lip syncing, I don't remember it being this bad in the original PS2 release. Perhaps the lower resolution helped mask it back in the day but oh well!

By the way, if you're interested there is already a mod out which will let you run Japanese audio with English text in menus/subtitles, if you happen to find their voices better.

Yeah, its the same on the other versions. Even the Vita.

I thought it was releasing as dual audio by default? Although I find the Japanese Tidus as annoying as the English (even though I believe it's Kurosaki Ichigo's seiyuu), and I prefer Auron's English voice too. This and DragonBall are 2 of the few things where I think the Eng dub is actually better :p

It does have dual audio, but the issue is the only way to have Japanese audio is to have Japanese menus and text also, unless you mod it.

Ah, ok. For some reason I assumed some form of competence from Square - it's really not difficult to separate the menus and text from the audio. Without looking at the files, one would assume they're completely different and a simple move around (or even rename) would work.. or they could be compressed into a single file which would just mean extracting that file and switching the audio files then reforming the file...

So far so good on this btw. They've definitely kicked it up a notch or 2 from the PS2 ver (even emulated at 4k :p ) - looks slick and runs smooth. Shame about the black bars at the side, but I didn't really expect them to support 21:9 on it lol

Spent a lot of the weekend playing. Up to the part where you have to commit a lot of time to capturing and playing Blitzball. The worst part imo, but I'm over half way through it.

Beating all the bosses in the arena is fun though so I'm looking forward to reaching the point where I start.

I don't think I can bothered with blitzball again after the PS3 version. May just see which cheats are available on the Steam forums. Seems to be quite a lot of good stuff going up.

It's more tedious than I remember. I guess I enjoyed blitzball as a kid.

Jupiter Sigil earned though, so no more BB for me.

I'm really glad I purchased this yet again :D

I'm amazed some of you have got to the end game content already. I though I was putting in a reckless amount of time for an adult, and I've just left Macalania temple! (Aye!)

It sounds like FFX has sold quite well. There is definitely a strong chance they will do a FFXII release in the future. It won't be near though, because they don't have a HD console version to port.
