People need to just ignore this **** and focus on more important things. However, no doubt this will cause an absolute category 5 **** storm on social media (and probably even in this thread).

Is perhaps pointless and stupid? Maybe. However, ultimately an organisation has chosen to change some of the language it uses - you can agree or disagree, but it is the organisation's decision and it will likely have zero impact on anyone's life.

Undergrads are a very energetic and angry bunch with a lot of time on their hands. Things like this are the result.
 
Here’s the dictionary definition for field. Loads of meanings including the area of force around magnets, a space in a database to a team.

i'd walk round the campus blaring out 'fields of gold' by sting from my ghettoblaster (yea yea i'm old, i know they aren't called that anymore :p ) that'd bloody teach them. go me:D
