How much would the following be worth...

1989 (F) Ford Fiesta XR2
79,000ish miles
Service History, MOT & Tax etc etc

Unmlostered aside from some other Ford alloys and an aftermarket exhaust, quite clean (no rust etc)

Ideas on price?

Phil

Really?

I was thinking one in good overall condition would be worth something closer to £500 or thereabouts...

I would pay £400 with no rust, and with TAX / MOT / generally clean.

Much fun to be had in these, was my first car back in the day... :)

If its as clean as you say and with s/h etc mate stick it on Interford or the XROC bb's. Got to be worth more than what your after to the right person...
:)

Mate very hard to get one now with no rot , very hard indeed.

Yeah, I think I've seen about 2 in the last couple of years. One was metallic purple and falling to bits. :p The other I can't remember.

I remember the 'good' old days when there were billions of these totally molested buzzing round everywhere. Most were gash, but some were ok. Now replaced by scooter bandits and Zetec S lookalikes.

I would've thought you could have a right laff in one though. Although to be properly cool it needs to be a modded MK1 imo.

No offence but why do you keep buying cars like this?

Because they're awesome cars. If I was going to buy something as a project it'd be an old XR2, AXGT, R5GTT or 205GTI. Something old, cheap, mechanically simple and fun to drive.

A really good one would be worth more than £100, but even the good ones often hide all sorts of sins underneath that bodykit

I'd have one happily, but would have a turbocharged CVH in there :)

Get on ebay and have a look..i missed out on one just up the road from me that went for £200 because i forgot to bid lol..
I need one to finish off my track car that i have been building for the last 3 years!! ..
There are still tidy ones about though..just to prove hear is mine and it has NO rust!..

Well, think i'll leave the one i was interest in alone, he wants over £1200 for it!

The values are on the way up now though...Expect to pay £6-700 for a good one with MOT and history easily now..

I would have paid £600max for it, it does need a damn good clean up, but not £1200!

Ah the XR2 :D

My second car in '93 was an '89 black one...Lovely little motor at the time...Sounded good as well!! Fun times

Incredibly underrated car. Sublime handling for an eighties FWD hatch...Supremely competant on ye goode olde British B Roade too.

Mk1 Supersport for the win though.

I owned a C reg xr2 for a short period of time. The car had previously had both rear arches replaced and there was a small bit of rot in the spare wheel well.

It was quite a nippy car for its age, suspension was somewhat worn but it was a fun car to drive :D
