Anyone grabbing this on Friday?

Really been painful not having a footie game since I sold my 360 and got the PS3 hoping its better than last years effort by EA

OT

Just been on my break at college and went to virgin where they are letting people play the full game on the ps2.

I selected liverpool and everton and both had no sponsors on there shirts

what going on :(

I hope the 360 version has the sponors

thanks david

I'm very tempted to pick this up on the 360 as I thought, visually and control wise it was sharper than the PS3 version. Problem is, do I save some money and just wait for PES :(.

Buy Halo this month, PES next month :)

FIFA 08 looks good, but once PES is out I probably wouldn't touch it again unless 5on5 online was really worth it.

Not sure whether to buy this, not sure if I like it due to it being a refreshing change to PES. I'm sure it will bore me in a few weeks unlike PES.

I've never got over FIFA: WC after them scenario's, I said I'd never buy a FIFA game again after that attrocious effort of a game.

Scenarios were one of the best things about that game, online was terrible though.

Classic scenarios with modern day players is just odd, I'm all for the challenge mode but not if it messes around with the historical context of the matches.
You guys that are unsure of getting it should remember the be a pro mode and 5 vs 5 online patch thats coming for it, lots of added value if that works online imo. The more of us that have it here the better, just get PES in a few months when the shine wears off fifa. :)

This is a new engine though :p.

Yeah, I do worry about the longevity of Fifa. The management mode has always been good (or so my mate says) and having more leagues, teams, stadiums etc.. is very nice.

Demo wish I was more impressed by Fifa because PES is running terribly with slowdown, freezes etc.. That's what you get for hammering an 8 year old engine.

Well, when you say slowdown you mean the freezing in the gameplay which happens randomly for just a second. This isn't the same as last years and I'm pretty sure it will be fixed if it hasn't already by KONAMI.

However there is slowdown in the cutscenes, other than that the games runs smoother than PES6 and I'm sure these problems will be sorted out as we all know the optimizing is done at the very last minute.

I'm impressed with FIFA's speed with freekicks and just being able to press A to skip replays etc, PES is annoying in having to wait for the ref to blow the whistle and pressing Start to skip replays etc.

I wish I had the faith in Konami that you have.
