***FIFA 10 - PS3 10v10 Clubs***

I think I can see what you mean. The problem with the 360 version was because it was so popular we had a lot of nameless, faceless people that would turn up, and then when in the club usually invite a lot of friends. We had no real quality control so to speak so you end up with a team who either gets a bad reputation, or are just generally ****.

By the way, does the club only have 13 because you have very high standards? or is it just because there's not been much interest of late? I might also come on now if anybody is around because ITV's coverage of the Arsenal match is pants.

Aye I miss this club as you had consistent regulars, I've just resorted to Pro Ranked games as no one really plays the 360 one anymore.

We expect very high standards, despite not meeting them ourselves. :p

We only have 13 because that's how many we deem as being regular. There's no point in having a club full of people if only a few of them actually play.

Our club in 09 was pretty epic, we started off absolutely rubbish. You could see the progression as we changed clubs, finally reaching our peak as Barca. :p

One thing we expect from everyone is looking for team-mates at every opportunity. Always look to play a one-touch pass. This is what I like a lot about Froomer and HTK. They pass quickly.

Positions are probably not what you'll be used to with the 360. We have a few regulars, for example, Jonny and Beenom are our best strikers so if possible, that's where we'll have them play but we'll always give others the chance to play there. Essentially though, you should choose a free position and make it 'yours' like Jonny has with LS, James has with LAM and me with RAM.

Need more than Getafe nomination :p. Unsure if Im on tonight - not feeling too great...

Also we might need to start considering how to deal with player numbers if we have loads on in one night - I personally dont think actual 10v10 works...

ps3ud0

hard to find a decent strip aint it. Dont like the Getafe one too much unfortunately! its all one colour bah!

I like kits that have different colours for shorts n socks. Ones i kinda like are Scotland :D Milan, Juve, Chelsea. (3 choices)

I also like kits which are VERY bright colours. I think wigan away strip is day glo greeny yellow?

Also with regard to players n postions. People say what ur stats are. my pace is usually above 90 but my heading is like 70 so that means i aint gonna win the ball in the air but i might get onto a through ball. My other "specialities" :D are LONG SHOTS i think its at 94 or smt. In some games we played we tried to pass it into the goal from the 1 yard line seemingly :p. Pass to edge of box shoot and its either a goal or its a rebound goal i reckon.

my preferred positions are CAM, RW, RM, LW, LM. I do a lot of running about which is why i prefer CAM (or forward facing RCM i guess?)

cheers :D Theres a problem with passing quickly - if we are too far apart. I think passing quickly works if its short passing. The mistake i make when im trying to receive a pass is i run AWAY from the ball....that just makes it harder for me to get a pass that will get through.

I usually do a purge every few months - just pointless having people that just dont play on the books. I dont think we have high standards at all, we just expect people to have some form of commital to Club be it as a regular or casual and make them aware of how difficult Club can be, especially if your VP isnt sorted to their liking.

The interest in the last month has been nice and its good to see people sticking around really - in all honesty because of the regulars we are quite happy to tick along as we are, but we've actively assisted people to join us if they want to...

We now actually play twice a week (Tuesdays 10pm and Sundays 9pm) as it just became a nightmare to play anything other than Fifa Club - we went through months of 09 Club playing every night, which was fun but pretty intense. We might adhocally add other nights I guess but having dedicated sessions ensures people are aware of them and a good turnout follows...

we only have 13? i'm sure there were a lot more at one point.. i think the in-actives may have been kicked :D
Ooops :p;)

Hmm I dont think we have high standards other than what we set up for ourselves - Im very hard on myself and quite rightly so in some circumstances. Skip I know Im on your case too, but I think you know me well enough to know what Im like and mostly because I know how good you can be...

Oi wheres my position :p. I guess I just fill in the position vacated by the ANY player - actually that holds pretty true most of the time...

P.S. Early pass/cross > *

Okie dokie, well that's all very useful information in the last few posts. I don't know anybody yet so I'm looking forward to see where everyone plays, and how they play. :)

I like to sit around the midfield area and thread balls through, a bit like Pirlo, but with better hair. It looks like you've already got two very good strikers and wingers then so if I'm around regularly (which I will be) then I wouldn't mind showing you what I play like in the centre of midfield. Also, I don't mind playing as ANY because giving the computer control of the 4 foot defenders is just like giving the other team 3 points. I wonder if Makelele still plays in goal for virtually every team? :(

Yeah, you used to be on a fair bit but you kept getting that bad lag in the Be a Pro games for some reason. Was fine though when we played a normal vs match. Remember losing against my Ajax? (just) :p

Gonna look at kits now then and make my suggestion - I still like the Classic XI from memory :p

Not sure how useful stats are in all honesty, as Ive got a very decent VP but do **** all with him sometimes. What I have found is that as a left-footed player Im really good on the right side of the pitch (RS/RW etc) and seem to cross far better on my right than my left and can take it inside to Henry curl it where necessary. Also any FKs Ill always happy lash wide :p...

@Killswitch - Since we do have a good band of regulars and casuals then theres always a good chance you will play somewhere you deem useful (not all of us are always on) and I think we are all grown up enough to ask/offer to swop if people are hogging positions or just fancy a change. Hell Ive got a MOM from CDM recently when we had a fair few on...

You know what you need to do before we start then...

Sort out a new formation. :p

Use your Rafa-like skills. :D

My preferred position is always CAM as I can support the strikers and it plays to my obsession with chipping through balls over the defense. :)

Plus, long shots is my highest stat (hence why I try them a lot :p) so that gets used well too from CAM.

Loved playing as CAM (Messi) in the 09 days.

I don't mind swapping positions or anything like that. As you say we are all grown ups and I'm not the type to go and throw a tantrum just because I can't play where I want to. I'd quite happily play 100 games at CB. :)

As for formations I'm just gonna throw a 4-1-2-1-2 out there. A nice midfield diamond based on the comments here would suit well?

Id honestly can say Id rather you not play 100 games at CB please :p

@Skip - any formation suggestions? 5 def might seem a good idea but when all positions north are static it doesnt leave the ANY with much time to organise and track runners (due to silly camera focussing on ball). Why I like an empty CDM position if possible since it gives a foil/early warning between the attack and the defensive line.

Weve pretty much got the best 2 442 formations in my opinion - 4222 (with 2 DMs and 2 AMs) which gives flexibility in how the AMs operate (one goes wing for an attack while the other ghosts into the central area to support/be another target) and allows for 6+1 players usually; and then 41212 (diamond 442) which gives 5+1 players - though I dont think the LM/RMs are high enough up the pitch - (I want a very blunt kite not a diamond)

P.S. I dont think classic 433 works looking at 09 Club - 1 ST in the middle is too easy to cover

Agreed. :p

We try to avoid human defenders where possible so that whoever is playing as ANY can have control of the entire back line.

We often interchange positions so that everyone gets a crack. You'll find that the regulars will often go to the likes of CDM so that the newbies can get playing upfront.

That never happened! Besides I whooped you after, haha!

I have a new ISP so no button lag! Loving it again!

I'm not great with formations, though I think there have been several cases where an opposition has one due to their formation overpowering ours.

A good formation is often under-rated.

You did. Twice I think. :(

Right, I'll see everybody later on, hopefully my pro will be more than 72 OVR. I hate having to do this all over again, especially seeing as my 360 pro was 85 or something like that. :(

Suggested kits (Home; Away; Sponsor):

Derby County (White/Black; Black/Silver; No Sponsor) Might just like White and Black though in-game < Its crap
Vfl Wolfsburg (White/Green; Green/White; VW) Same as above but White and Green (not as good as Mexicos IMO)
Mexico (still actually really nice IMO)
Bari (White/Red; Red/White; No Sponsor - Skip is their emblem :p) < Its crap
Mexicos U.N.A.M. (White/Black/Gold; Blue/Gold; Banamex - Nice logo) My favourite over Mexicos!!!
Classic XI (Gold/White; White/Gold; No Sponsor) Still think this is classy < Its crap
Australias Nth Qld Fury FC (Green/White; White/Green; No Sponsor) < Away blends into pitch
Austrias Red Bull Salzb. (White/Red/Yellow; Blue/Red/Yellow; Red Bull :p - Getafe like)

Thoughts? Definitely check out UNAMs...

P.S. Check out US Sounders FC :p

Love Seattle, UNAM and Wolfsburg. Also like Bayer Leverkusen and Columbus Crew's kits.

Columbus' yellow away kit is lovely! :)

I'd say Borussia Dortmund too, but their goalie looks like a fruit salad.
