I was slating him on PS3 (old gen) on the PS4 he is ideal partnered with Silva. As I said before the new engine makes a big difference to slower more physical CB's. A lot of people can use Vidic really well for example.

Both of them compliment each other well on the PS4, his weaknesses are Silva's strengths and vice versa.

Plus I'm getting bored of my teams and I want to try something new.

Overall I think I'm going to have to go for

Although I am tempted to stick Santana in LB on 7 chem due to work rates of Marcelo.

I would have loved the second team Adsta posted if I could get Mandzukic or Costa on 9 chemistry, I don't like the look of huntelar as a lone striker.

Also tempted to build this instead as well

Cheers for the effort but Huntelaar having low pace as well as low dribbling just doesn't seem ideal for a lone striker. His passing is really low too which is another improtant factor in a 4231 striker as he is sometimes needing to play in the other attacking players, because playing up top on your own you sometimes need to hold play up or play 1-2's.

My other Strikers in my other 2 teams are Jovetic and Vucinic, I don't think I could take such a huge downgrade.

It's been really hard trying to make third team as good my other 2 on the limited budget I have.

You just gave me another idea/option, the same team as above but Boateng as ST, then I just need a decent LCAM which I know means Gotze or Gundogan

The prob with putting Mandzukic as ST in my last suggestion is you would not get full chem. he would only get 6 (8 if you have a bunda manager and loyalty) unless you happen to have Ribery for the LM position ;)

Give Huntelaar a go he is cheap as chips to pick up and he might surprise you. I found him much better than I was expecting.

Failing that you could have Mandzukic on the bench and just sub him on right at the start of the game and not take the chem hit.

Edit: Just saw your edit above. I personally wouldn't suggest Boateng as an ST. I've tried it before and he sucked really bad for me, his finishing was simply not good enough for a lone ST imo.

If you had 4 mil coins would you still wait for TOTY and open all packs or buy Messi and Ronaldo and build a Messi, Ronaldo and Ibra hybrid?

Cheers for the help.

I just blew all my spare coins on IF Melo to replace Gustavo in one of my current teams to free him up for the third one.

So I have a lot of saving to do and some time to decide from all the suggestions now, I have like 2-3K spare atm.

Anyone tried IF melo? He looks better on paper than Gustavo apart from High attack, but playing with Garcia he should be fine.

Yep IF Melo is great for me. Very balanced and works great with Ramires

Great formation. I went ahead and tried Cole and IF Baines and LB and I quite like Baines.
 
Wow, my form has got worse than Man Utd's - I can't win a game!!

So after a serious case of rage, i've sold my entire squad. Now, I need some advice.

I'm after some guidance on a formation and squad which defends solidly but has the ability to hit the counter attack quickly. Not fussed on the league - just want the squad to work well.

1.3m coins to spend - any advice appreciated.

He has the stats but he is far too small and weak to be one of the best.

It all depends on your play style, some people use 5 at the back to defend solidly but I feel it leaves your midfield over ran so you have next to no real possession but it is the ultimate counter attack formation I prefer 5221 out of all the 5 at the back formations but I would never use it on fifa 14 (a strong midfield is crucial to my style of play) and 2 midfielders isn't enough for me, so i would need to play attacking and use the wingbacks as midfielders, which isn't ideal imo.

I prefer to use 4231 with medium/medium full backs.

Basically medium/medium full backs stay back and defend a lot more than high medium ones.

Or you could try 352 with 2 CDM's with med/high or low/high work rates if you like possession this is the ultimate defensive formation (with the right CDM's).

Then there's 41212 or 442 with the 2 CDM's but I don't particularly like them compared to 4231.

4222 is pretty decent too but I didn't like it on next gen, loved it on ps3 though.

All other formations aren't really defensively as solid as the above (unless i've missed one).

Just played a team with IF benzema, IF Costa in midfield alongside IF Isco and Pique, Ramos and co. He scores 3 headers pique from a corner I don't mind but Pedro scoring headers from crosses against Ramos and IF Miranda is a joke.

I managed a draw but feel robbed, especially
 
what's a good attacking formation? I'm using 433(2) with my bundesliga team and I can't seem to score to much, how about 4222? any advice would be good.

yeah 433(4) is about as attacking as you can get.... other than that 442 is very attacking. :)

I tried to explain to people in FIFA 13 who used to rage at me, that my 5221 on attacking was far, far more offensive than 352 ultra defensive (last years favoured newb tactic).

maybe I'm doing something wrong then, on my 41212 BPL team I could score all the time
