That said some IF's do go up over time. I bought a couple of Miccoli's IF's paid about 60k for them at his release. Later down the line I sold them for ~150k a card

For anyone thats had prior exposure to FUT it is common sense, if I saw that a relatively expensive player on FUT13 seemed a lot cheaper on FUT14 web app then theres a good chance youll make a profit, just double check if those stats changes havent nullified that particularly player.That's not what I was arguing, I was merely arguing that it's not entirely common sense, and does require some experience.
(But any tips are appreciated)
Ultimately this isnt stocks and shares where nuances make a difference, at the end of the day you are trying to profit on other peoples inabilities to correct value a player and as its been demonstrated year after year theres lots of those around to exploit. Just realise a realistic profit margin and stick to it...
Its demonstrable easy to make coins in FUT via trading, I dont think its even that much of a challenge other than the time it eats into...
Hitting the first 50k is the hardest part, especially as you need to be diligent not spending it making your team better straight away, after that with a decent stake its awfully easy...

No they dont, the majority of IFs increase in value when they are taken out of packs, its only within that week window that you need to be careful when you buy that IF player to minimise loss in vestment or conversely maximise profit when selling.
Outside of that its only improved IFs/TOTYs/matching UPs that really depreciate IF prices...

Yes they do, I'm talking about if you buy them in the 1st day or two, their price is usually always at its highest point then. Then many of them get another in form which drops the price dramatically. There is a right time to buy them, usually avoid buying on the weekend of that TOTW and wait for around Monday/Tuesday.
No one buys them first day or two, unless youre a bit special - you might luck out and get one in a pack early in the TOTW but no one on here would ever go and buy one then (except Rob?) but wait til near the end of TOTW...
EDIT: Sorry I sound dismissive, your point is correct, but considering the context of the topic I dont think many would ever need to worry about it when considering best ways to make profit...

Yep I dno many here that would, especially as I added if the point was trying to turn a profit. Many would buy packs in the hope of picking them up early, just not to buy them early..

Well that's what I originally said that if you buy them on release i.e first day or two then you're very unlikely to make profit. Still many people buy them in this period so they can be the first to have them/use them.
TBH we are making the same point, I just think its moot regards profit making myself, its the want of having that particular player which seems incidental to the possible profitability of that player at that point in time.

Oh I agree and that's why some of us can make profit, from the impatient ones who go on the market and don't want to keep searching for a player, they just pay over the odds.

You can't unless you owned the previous fifa on ps? If you did then just login to the web app using that account.
