Has anyone used SIF Lewandowski? He was so strange for me, absolutely butchered so many shots, a few good finishes but just couldn't find the net, just put him up for sale, pulled his NIF out of the trade pile who then scored 2x what the SIF scored in 8 games in the first half of the next game, confuddled doesn't do my head justice!
 
The curse of SIFs. I think you have to forget they're SIFs really and play normally with them. Their first IF often boosts their main stats (in this case shooting) to levels which are already high enough that you have to look at other things for differences.

I haven't used Lewandowski myself but the phenomena you describe is not rare. :)

Yeah I has the same with Milito this year, 4 in 2 from his NIF saw the IF for 14k and he scored 2 in 8.

SIF Lewandowski last night nailed his own coffin though before I listed him, he was WIDE open in the area, had Aubameyang or Sam, can't remember, on the ball, saw him standing there, figued if I get him a goal he may start scoring more, dinky littlle cross which fooled the keeper, open goal for the header...

He does a scorpion kick into the post..... :rolleyes:
 
Guys, thought I would give Fifa 14 another try!! only played 8 games and thought it was poor compared to 13..

what formations are best this time around? was thinking of giving 442(2) a go..

any cheap but really good players I should be looking for?

Some IF's have insane boosts others not so much.

IF Milito and IF Rakitic are ones that come to mind.

I just bought IF Valbuena (the most expensive player I have used on fifa 14) and yeah he feels a lot better to use personally.

I also have 2 teams which are now insane to use.

I mean in 6 games in Jovetic and Menez have scored something like 15+ goals between them and 9 assists.

Bare in mind a lot of the opponents also rage quit on me, iirc I was 4-0 up at half time and one guy rage quit, so imagine what the stats would be like if they hadn't.

In my other team Etoo is amazing, he has higher goals than he does games, but the other striker is just not performing, I have tried Sturridge, Torres, Ba and Dzeko so far and nothing like Jovetics record (playing in the same position LST).

I have now gone back to Benteke and going to save up for Suarez teams are as below and they are insane to use;

Jovetic -- Menez

Nasri -- IF Valbuena

Garcia -- Matuidi

Enrique - Koscielny - Kaboul - Konko

Cech

and

Benteke - Etoo

Fernandinho - Ramires

Sandro - Essien

Luis - IF Miranda - Luiz - Mariano

Courtois

current streak is like 12 wins and 2 or 3 losses iirc so 4:1 win ratio with the team.

I just need to get the LST position nailed down in the second team.

Jovetic is the best striker I have used in the game, so well rounded and so lethal. Etoo is probably the second best striker I have used in the game DAT shot into the far corner is lolworthy, I scored like 5 goals in one game like that with him, easily outpaces CB's to get past them then shoot into the far corner from the right hand side using his strong foot into the left side of the net = easy goals.

I imagine using Etoo and Jovetic up front together in the same team would be utterly crazy.

my best formation so far is clearly 4222

see my teams above for cheap but insanely good players.

as a rule of thumb all CB's have Sentinel chemistry.

Both GK's have glove.


Enrique has Anchor and all the other full backs have Sentinel too.

CDM's all have Anchor.

CAM's all have Engine.

RST all have Engine and LST all have HAWK.

Swap Cech for Begovic, IF Miranda for Santana or Miranda, IF Valbuena for Valbuena and you could easily afford both teams apart from maybe Etoo so get Sturridge or Remy but Etoo is essential to that team, insane.

4 defensive mids is not tactical. You may as well just hold a banner up saying "I'm a ****" and be done with it.

Fernandinho is a CM and Ramires is high attack with only 76 defense, therefore not defensive mids.

More box to box players.

I use them to press the team, as well as build up play and outrun opponents full backs.

therefore no way would I use him as a CDM or call him one

so i'm not playing with 4 defensive mids then?

Fernandinho is also definitely closer to CAM than he is a CDM with his 83 passing, 84 creator rating compared to 70 defensive rating, and 79 attacker rating

bare in mind im talking about wide CAM's here where pace is important as well so thats why I use them, pace plus passing, plus defensive pressure. Ramires is usually the one highest up the pitch.

not another pace pressure abuse team - im sick of playing them - they use customised tactics to highly pressure the other team so every player has a person on them.... and charge into the players like American footy.... then lob the ball forward for a lucky break.... more like American football

not much fun to play against..

again that's not how I play, yes I do pressure the opponents but not with custom tactics, I take the midfielder closest to them and simply cut off their space and try to nick the ball, that is common sense though not pressure tactics.

i don't play high pressure custom tactics because it's easy to counter, simple 1-2's, lob balls, passing backwards or switching wings, etc.

there's so many ways to defeat it.

Ramires is my main attacking playmaker (because of his pace mainly), Etoo is for through balls, taking on players and setting up the more "target" striker.

you will note how in my other team I use Nasri and IF Valbuena, whereas I could have used Sissokho and Pogba, I play similarly with both teams and use Ramires as I would Valbuena and vice versa.

he seems to have just picked up on the fact that they are good defensively rather than just well rounded fast'ish players.

although had I been using Ronaldo, Ribery, Robben, Bale or Messi, nobody ever points out that they are "pace" abuse players, etc.
