He also has finesse shot trait which means he should be really good at taking finesse shots.

Jovetic has "flair"

this means they can easily take on players and beat them, sometimes they do special tricks when you try and take on a player automatically which only they do. It's things like how they control the ball and knock it on and then run after it, etc.

Carroll has the power header trait, this means when he heads the ball 9 times out of 10 it will be a bullet and fly into the net, he can produce a serious amount of power on his headers usually.

Most of the traits are therefore self explanatory.

As unfortunately I can't view futhead from work, do you know if there is a way to search by traits to get a list of players with them? Or is it just search a player and find traits that way?

or you can search for all available players for a position from a league then compare all their traits

the website is harder to use but gives you much better info and more detailed comparison than any other.

it's probably the best out of every one i've seen - bit it's also the hardest to use.

edit:

damn i just tried that website and realised it no longer works - it worked on older fifas.

maybe i'm not doing it right?

Ah, thanks for that Sonny! Also blocked from work but at least will make it easier to find traits (especially as I completely forgot about them until the trait discussion :) )

in case you missed the edit above - it doesn't look they support traits like they have in the past.

i looked at several players and they had no traits, even though I know they have some.

I've been saying it for a while now, my Bundes squad is amazing. 433-2 is perfect for it.

I'd like to get another squad that fits 433-2 just as good. Maybe I just need to get the right striker for a BPL 433-2.

You need to find a formation that suits the players.

Like my teams, my BPL team worked lovely in a 4-2-3-1 but my Seri A didn't. As the CAM's weren't stong enough. a 4-2-2-2 worked perfectly for Seri A but not for BPL.

My Seri A CAM's liked to play very wide, so marcisiho and hamsik are almost wingers. Whereas Rooney, nasri, Jovetic (cabaye) always drift centrally which suits 3 central CAM's better. With a BPL 4-2-2-2 there was no width and too many players around the area.

I have personally never got in with hybrids.. My French league/ BPL squad was a right mess.
 
Im done with packs, haven't purchased any for a few weeks now i think. i have 4 squads, plenty of variety and the only players id like i would never stand a chance of in packs and can't afford.

The only option now is trading which i cant be bothered with this time around, when 15 touch's down ill invest £100 in packs initially and hopefully that will be enough to get me rolling. I will also start trading form the off.
 
certain leagues and nations suit certain formations better than others.

i remember one year i used 422 with every league and nation apart from Liga BBVA which suited 4321.

i tried 4321 with other teams and it didn't work as well as trying 4222 with liga bbva and that also didn't work.

i tend to stick to 1 formation though usually across all teams.

4231 is my go to but the game suits 2 or more forwards so they pull the defence out of position, creating gaps.

basically creating gaps or exploiting game mechanics and engine are the keys to success.

the ultimate defensive formation is 541 diamond on pro clubs, it's 6 defensive players creating an impregnable wall, the only weakness it has is out wide.

Best way to do it really. It's what I did and had like 400k per £40 ish. 24k FIFA points can set you up for the whole game as it'll give you a sizeable coin stash to invest in trading.

I invested in Bundesliga players early on - buying lowish and selling up as the prices kept rising up. Then just did the usual in form trading.

Obviously as soon as you buy a good player which wipes your coins out then your ability to make money diminishes as well so it's important to make sure you've got a couple of fun squads to use while you're making coins otherwise it'll just get boring. I made a mill about a month after release and then a mill a month or more thereafter.

Packs and trading.

my pack luck has been awful until this year, which is sods law it being the fifa i have played the least and hate the most.

now i'm thinking i'll never get that lucky again so why bother with packs on 15, just save the coins up and stick to budget teams.
