FIFA 18

Played 5 more tonight, 15-10. Bizarrely loads of people were disconnecting when I was losing and subsequently I didn't get the loss or lose a game; wondering if people are pressing the home button
 
Low driven 1-2s are wrecking me this week. PTB, low driven passes and counter attack is what my first 7 opponents have used.

7 losses in a row now and 5 2-0 HT leads eaten up in the second half :(

Edit: Oh FFS, this is taking the **** now. 4-0 HT lead and I lost the game. I literally can't find a pass in the second half of games atm.

16-8 should 19-5 chucked 2 in ET and a 2 goal lead in another. Playing well, really enjoying the 433 4 again this weekend post patch it's unleashed it's potential again.
 
I faced one team with him in my first 5 games but I never win enough games to face better opponents and better teams.

I've faced 13 teams with Martial, Mbappe and Dembele in attack and every single one has played PTB and counter attack. There's absolutely zero skill involved in hitting the same few buttons over and over again yet it's so OP it's destroying me.

Edit: Also, near post corners needs patching. Everyone's scoring with ease now.
 
I’ve scored some crazy goals with Prime Ronaldinho, he’s great, haven’t regretted getting him, he makes the game more fun. CR7 is equally effective but less interesting.

Sadly though the most painful players to face are the Martial/Mbappe/Alessandrini crew, they are horrible to play against if your opponent knows how to exploit their speed etc.

Most goals I concede are dodgy, for example the guy will shoot on the edge of the box, it hits my defender, bobbles around, and ends up back at his player for a tap in. Infuriating and bizarre.

You can’t really enjoy WL (at least at my matchmaking) as the majority of opponents will do anything to win and are just annoying beyond belief. And in the end it’s pointless as you get nothing good in the reward packs. :(
 
I finished 8-1, its my lads birthday so we're off away tomorrow early and I'd rather end on a high than getting fed up, it was a struggle in the last few games. I won comfortably in the end but the KO goals seem more regular than ever.

@Jimbeam3678, I know you asked me to post some of the goals I scored, well I had two usual high scoring games so saved the match clips. Personally, all the goals are aesthetically UNpleasing but I tend to know what will and won't go in the net! And yes 95% are driven shots :p

Wish I hadn’t bothered coming back, went 14-0 then lost 8 on the bounce, my team just isn’t good enough when I come up against TOTY, icons and heavily upgraded cards, had a few messages from people saying I played very well besides some defeats that were upwards of 3 goals, good to see that some people with top squads acknowledge the difference it makes.

I’m down south for a weekend in a couple of weeks and a friend has an icon squad so I’m going to give it a go in WL.
 
Icon teams are the death of me too. That said elo also makes it very difficult for me after around 10 games and I start to lose more if I've gone on a decent run.

Thats the idea of ELO though, otherwise the likes of Gorilla etc would be playing Silver 1 players when they are 35-0. I find it gets a slightly more difficult at 15 wins then goes up a notch again at 20 wins when I usually have 10 games left and start dreaming of Gold 1 which never happens :p

After your previous post I gave 433 (4) ago again and you are right its good fun down the wings until you come again a competent player and they block that avenue off forcing you down the middle which is less effective. Good formation though.
 
So bored of this now. 20 games, 20 opponents playing PTB counter attack.

Can't beat the ping pong low driven passes so I can't improve my rating to face teams that might play a different style of football.

Edit: Finally stopped the rut and went on a 5 game winning streak until I came up against this team :(

He tried to play the ball around and make use of his team rather than spam low driven passes but it was so easy to defend against :(

I was 3-10 after winning my first 3 games, now I'm 15-10. Matchmaking is just plain weird.

Just want 3 more wins for Gold 3 and then back over to Squad Battles to try and get Elite 2.
 
Your ELO will have dropped significantly if you won 3 then lost 10, but yeah it seems random at times, I’ve faced really difficult players in my first games before and then easy ones in later games after win streaks. The problem is there’s so much variation between skill in the middle that games can go either way between gold and elite players and people get tilted after conceding when it’s fairly easy to come back from even 3 goals down this year.
