FIFA 18

If you’re at all interested in the higher end prizes in WL then the reality is you’ll likely have to learn to play the game differently than you currently do, my advice would just be not to worry about how many wins you get and just play your own way and try and have fun, I’ve still seen people pack alright stuff from silver rewards.

Last year the meta matched the way I’ve played FIFA over the years perfectly and pre patch this year I was having success as well which is strange considering post patch is more like FIFA 17, I’ve went from being an elite 1 player with a few top 100 scrapes last year to a gold 1 rager.

Last year i played most of the weekend leagues bar a few where i was away, one of the times i didnt play all the games and got monthly silver 1. I got a **** card and also got 90griezmann! that was my best pull of the season i think, i did get neymar in a SBC but only got 400k when i sold him where as griezman was untradeable so had to keep. he was pretty good mind!
 
I just can't settle on a go. Wingers or 2 up front. With just 1 I create less chances but don't have the width. So I'm flitting between the two.

Also playing online is so different to the squad builder matches. The engine game engine seems different.

One game uni lost 5-3 but the other guy was just scoring every chance he got with hard hit belters. I played with 2 up front.



One I lost 0-1 after dominating all game but failing to score to a last minute header when my defence disappeared. With one up front.

The last game i won 2-1 With my wingers Lucas and taison both scoring complicating matters in my mind
 
Is the WL stuff more end to end? Based on what I've seen on some streams it seems so. I prefer to play a midfield possession based game generally and take time with the build up, it seems playing like this gets you trampled and countered a lot.
 
Anyone here have Higuain? I brought it him yesterday but I'm not liking him. I can't finish with him as well as i can with immobile or Dzeko? Any tips on using him..
 
wl consists mostly of people parking the bus and countering you on break if you over commit.... they don't bother trying to tackle u and run everyone back to congest defence areas... Very frustrating gameplay

some of the better players press and double pressure you and have good awareness of passing lanes... tough but more fun if you can avoid the 2 heat seeking players..
 
I tend to use my midfield to aggressively close down the opponent and then get the ball into the 2 strikers quickly and counter. I can hold on to the ball but I’m generally not that patient.

Nainggolan, Hamsik and Pjanic are good for this at the moment at least. I also tend to play straight through the middle, hence why I’ve got a narrower formation, I struggle to use wide players effectively.

One good thing is, if the opponent is good defensively and packs the box, pretty much my entire midfield and the strikers are easily capable of smashing them in from range.

I’m probably going to set the full backs to stay back to start with for the WL, and see how it goes. Fully expecting a rage fest later on :( :p

I’d agree with the above, Mertens is good but doesn’t seem amazing. I wasn’t sure about Dybala initially but he’s actually excellent! Belotti for 8k is crazy good though, he’s even scoring headers from corners and out jumping CB’s.

Going to use Belotti late on in games in this WL, hopefully his physicality against tiring defenders will get me some results.
 
Hi guys was playing Fifa 18 on PS4 last night and the lag was pretty bad. I haven't played Fifa in years my nets 100mb and I was playing around 8PM is this pretty common?
 
It is P2P so you're relying on people with decent connections, not even decent connections just not idiots who don't download whilst playing, or live in houses where other people will be downloading etc. I get a laggy game every 4/5 games. It's infuriating.
 
Just luck at the end of the day.

I have a Netduma router that is supposed to filter out crap connections, it doesn't do very well.

Have to change three players round at kick off to get everyone on 10 chem. Perisic is good for me , would be a decent sub I guess

I've googled this and now I am suddenly very intrigued by it. Does it not work at all? Have you used a VPN with it?
