FIFA 18

Considering the biggest changes in the last patch were not even mentioned, I'll reserve judgement :p

Ok was able to play the knock out tournament, well autodefense = dead got 4 auto defender as my openents they got all bashed, manuel defending feels superior now 4-0 6-2 -5-1 3-1 , the passes are damn slow ^^
i feel the defender choice / reaktion are faster now quite nice patch

There's some further changes as well:

Addressed the following issues in Gameplay:
  • The goalkeeper sometimes parrying the ball into his own goal.
  • The goalkeeper diving too early on downward header and volley shots.
  • Players sometimes becoming invisible during a match.
  • Dragbacks not working when rapidly tapping the modifier button.
  • Players being unable to string together multiple stepovers.
  • The goalkeeper, in some situations, being unable to throw the ball after making a save close to the goal line.
  • The player automatically passing the ball from a set piece after the game had been paused in an Online match.
  • An issue with Custom controls where movement with the directional buttons was not working when locked to a player.
 
Hope the passing changes slow the game down a bit, it’s so fast at times you simply can’t defend against it due to the time it takes defenders to turn/reposition.
 
The majority of goals scored are with keepers' poor intelligence with parrying, real keepers must be insulted in how EA think they are so thick to constantly parry shots into the the where a striker is stood!
 
It would be nice to see high rated keepers eventually become worth it, I know there's cheap overpowered outfield players in the game but with keepers I have never felt the urge to spend more than a few k, Lev Yashin is a joke to play against for example, utterly terrible in game.
 
I wonder if 5-2-1-2 might help with defending, I used it quite a bit in FIFA 17 early on and had success, but the defending was nothing like it is now...
 
5atb worked well in years where scorelines were low or marginal, I've only tried it in draft and it seems to invite a lot of pressure onto your defence, if you set PTB with it as well though it becomes quite compact and definitely harder to break down, but anyone who knows what they're doing will still get through due to the way defenders are this year, they open passing lanes out of your control.

Been there, done that. I don't think it really helps, your midfield just gets dominated inviting pressure and they will eventually get through. I am sure if you set custom settings to soak up pressure it will work, I've been killed by some 5atb teams before, it's mega infuriating to play against if the person is good!
 
Set up filters to help me snipe SBC players for near discard, it's working well. I only had a couple of K left after buying Kante on Monday.

I noticed the mega pack promo destroyed the market for a bit, good time to buy players especially in the 20-60k range as they've bombed. Martial was going for 45k this morning.
 
It's a shame they've almost killed the bronze and silver scene off as it was quite popular and a nice change from the norm, I still remember my silver brazilian team back in 13, was awesome fun.
