FIFA 20

Tried rivals for the first time in ages, horrendous experience. I saw someone retweeted something that Nepenthez guy said and he's right, there's nothing left to do in this game other than spending cash. I think I'm just about done with it.

I must admit I’m getting very fed up with it, I mainly enjoy the trading

Been doing the icon swaps objective and I’ve nearly lost the will to live with the England one

Lost again Andy?:o TOTY Messi is within my sights:cool:

I really want to buy some points but I just can’t bring myself to do it, as I think @Quinnaay said a few weeks ago they genuinely don’t deserve it. Talking the basic errors on card stats, announcements etc alone. That’s not getting into the other well spoken about gripes.

I'm considering PES just for something to play football wise, hoping its just a fun game to play..

Diva, you've usually sacked the game off by now, don't start being team EA again.

Ha, probably positive about it as I haven’t played for a week just traded instead. Picking up the miles on cycling again so there is fair chance it’ll get sacked off :p

Don’t think this iteration is any worse or better than 17,18 or 19. Same stuff really ai lunges, ai auto clearances etc.

Thinking about it more I reckon I only play to the do the Messi celebration to the camera when he’s a got a hat trick.

I need a hobby I think, I hate cyclists though :(

17, 18 and 19 I could play religiously every night, despite the flaws I found it actually 'fun', they've made this game something where you can't relax and play, you need to sit 5cm from the screen and just sweat it out. It's just boring regardless of winning/losing.

I cycle through your area so watch out for them it could be me...... actually scrap that ....

I do get what you mean about FIFA, my problem is I still like gaming but only football games interest me. I’ve had red dead 2 for 14 months and it’s still in its shrink wrap :(:(

That is why I hate them, where I live is full of them, it's always when I'm in a rush and there will be hundreds of them to get past! If you ever go near Welbury drop in for a cuppa old man ;)

Same here, FIFA and COD have been my only played games for the past decade. The latter is also getting pretty tedious, maybe time to hang up my controller!

I’ll keep that in mind if I’m dying on my way back from the North York moors. Can’t get on with FPS on pads, played too much CS years ago.

Has anyone (@Rids ) used any of the toty yet?

Feeling much the same really. It’s just meh.

Draft is the only fun mode through the week and has been for a good couple of months problem is you typically don't even make your coins back even if you win.

I've said it for a while now the game is literally only a weekend game as rivals is beyond fun and the weekend league is the only semi rewarding and semi decent gameplay (luck dependent, mines not been rewarding once this year having said that but for some people it is).

For me the gameplay is too slow/defensive based, everyone in div 3 and above plays to hold the ball for as long as they possibly can and try sneak a 1-0 win. What ever happened to a fun attacking football game ? :(

That is what I mean, it's just a bore. I think anyone who typically played me throughout all the FIFA knew my style and over the years its become apparent it doesn't suit the game anymore, I would deem the way I played fun, I have to switch my style for WL so compete and I do well but it's boring, passing sideways/backwards, rolling the ball backwards, no pressing of run fast, never shooting outside the box, etc etc.
I should be able to switch off from this mode in rivals which is supposed to be a fun mode, but everyone just replicates the WL style, it's just too much. And yeah its terrible in Div 3, you feel mentally drained after one game!

What happened to different ways of playing? I remember in an old FIFA, diva infuriating everyone abusing crossing when headers were actually a way of scoring, there was tiki taka, passing, the patient games to exploit defences or just pure counter attacking (my style) and abusing pace. Now there is just one way to compete, it the equivalent of COD and everyone using the M4A1 :p

You can still play how you want, I do, its just that you wont do very well. :D

Exactly, unlike about 95% of the people I play a possession based, slower build up game, its what I enjoy doing, I don't do it to annoy people, but when I play these people playing fast, aggressive games like @Andybtsn does, I struggle, get caught out a lot and end up trying to match what they are playing and really scupper myself then, doesn't always work well, but my team is designed around that gameplay with faster, creative wingers to open up some space when needed.
