I think AI blocking is a tricky thing to get right. It'll be super annoying if the AI does nothing and just stands there like a lemon as the ball flies 3cm away from their leg and they fail to move. You can only control 1 player and you can't always player switch quick enough or accurately enough to stop someone that's passing the ball around.
I think you need the AI to do some things, like track runs, intercept balls and make obvious tackles and blocks.
I'm not saying "I think we do...", but I do wonder if sometimes people get things go in their favour that they ignore or miss but would be swearing at the TV/monitor if it had happened the other way around. You have to remember that you'll be on the negative end of some of these nerfs too and you may not realise how often they save you.
It's like when I watch the streamers and they complain about the opponent getting a lucky goal or tackling the guy 3 times but not getting the ball. When they score it it was a great goal if they break through 3 tackles it's because they're such an awesome player (the in-game player, not the streamer).
And they'll complain about the games they lose to worse players, but rarely mention the times the beat a better player. Saying things like "9 times out of 10 I win that game", but I don't hear "9 times out of 10 I lose that game".
I think people are biased, even when they don't mean to be.
