FIFA 21

New patch out that fixes the initializing screen issue when loading into a game.... First game I have on the new patch and I get stuck at the initializing screen :D

Going to bin off getting one expensive icon and build this instead, should be way more effective.

Meta but Saka seems so overpriced

Hardly played for a couple weeks, needed some incentive. Sold TOTY Davies, CR7 and Klostermann. Brought back the untradable Varane and Mendy and bought Baby Cruyff to play along side Eusebio. Hopefully it works and is fun.

Strange isn't it, EA has got the formula so right as a business model but the gameplay has gone downhill. It's not just EA though, the player base is now incredibly toxic. I had a guy quit out in MM just before I scored yesterday because you know, you can't have your opponent actually doing an objective ahead of you...

If it wasn't for lockdown I'm sure I would have sacked this off, there just isn't anything to do than play games unfortunately.
Maybe you can queue into the twosync lads again. That could be a laugh.

Did I hear they're doing extra red picks again this weekend?

I've not played Fifa 21 (other than the 10 hour trial) and while I do miss it at times, every weekend I'm quite glad I didn't bother.

I think one of the reasons I didn't want to play it was because I managed to make a really good team in Fifa 20 and was worried I wouldn't be able to match it this year and that would be frustrating.

Faced it into the two rival games I played, it's so boring to play against, the guy didn't even seem to want his fullbacks attack, absolute bore fest. Rivals is just a terrible terrible mode.

Couple of interesting PIM position changes by the sounds of it, their bios have been leaked. PIM Beckham will be RM as it's based on the Greece game, Nedved back to LM instead of CAM which is a shame. Ronaldinho will be CAM, shame I won't be able to afford any of the top end ones :D

Feels like I am playing the same teams over and over. People have no variety at all. :)

Yeah, due to the small pool of players who are top. As usual pace is everything which makes some real life top players redundant. If the game allowed different play styles it would open it up to more creative teams

More than 2 weeks without my console now.

In fairness, how would you make the game allow different types of play?

Not sure bud I'm not a developer. It doesn't seem like a far fetched concept to me.

Earlier Fifa games were more receptive to a methodical passing game than the recent ones.

If you are trying to mimic football however then it should play like it.
I don't disagree that the gameplay is an issue.
It's like if someone asks how to get better at a game and the response is just "git gud". I was just meaning it's tricky if you really think about it.
How do you stop pace being such an important factor, it's important in real life too, just not as much as in Fifa. In real life slower players with good passing can be effective, we've seen lots of them, but why are they able to be effective in real life but not Fifa?
If you make it so that every playstyle can work, then how do you make a skill gap. Plus if every attacking style can work, doesn't that make defending harder? Then lots will complain that defending is too hard.
Like when people complained in Fifa 20 about the whole "near post OP" and "why does anything have to be OP"? So what do you do, make all shot OP, then GKs seem rubbish. Make no shots OP and GKs seem to good. If you made it so that at any time certain shots had a better chance of going in at random then you take the skill out of it. If you make certain shots OP from certain situations then people would just learn the OP shot type for each situation and you're back in a similar situation.
