FIFA World Cup 2014 - GROUP A [Brazil, Croatia, Mexico, Cameroon - 12/13/17/18/23 June] **spoilers**

Shocking refereeing. But only to be expected against the darlings that are Brazil.
Might as well just give them the cup now if this is the way it's going.

Never wanted Germany to win a World Cup as much in my life...

Roy Hodgson's dinosaur tactics, i can see the Italians being very scared of that :D

I can imagine England thinking they are being smart by getting Rooney to man mark Pirlo and then Pirlo promptly playing as a number 10 resulting in chaos as Rooney starts playing as a third central defender

Nicely done Brazil:D..soft penalty but then the croatian defenders were getting away with murder...2-3 times they hacked Oscar but no yellow card.

Glad Brazil won as im hoping they win it this year but defensively they are so so poor. Really need to fix that up especially against the bigger teams.

Panelaty was a shocker, and do you have some magical internet proof that shows Neymar sh should have been on the pitch and also the moon is made of cheese while we're at it too?
Cheating Brazilians supported by cheating FIFA, no more to say.

Im Croatian and well that was just a joke.

Never a penalty and our goal should have stood. Robbed off a point. Keeper was so close to saving it too.

Feel very hard done by :(

Don't think they would have won perhaps a draw but the ref had too much of a influence in that

Well the ref played a part in all 3 of Brazil's goals so i dont see the logic there. Neymar should not have been on the pitch for the first goal, then Fred dives for a PK.

Croatia scored a valid equalising goal only to be ruled as a foul on the goalkeeper when there was no foul. For Brazil's 3rd goal Brazil win the ball back by fouling the Croatian player.

Terrible performance from the ref and Croatia were robbed today. They definitely could have won that game today.

99 out of 100 times a forward challenging for a ball with the goalkeeper like Olic did with Julio Cesar will be penalised. You can argue that 'keepers get too much protection, but fact is the referee was always likely to give a free kick.

In the replay the ref is not that close and at an angle that it looked like Olic just climbed over him with his shoulder. It was way more clear cut than that penalty though.

The Croatian coach has said that if the refereeing doesn't improve they might as well just go home now, the guy must have ice running through his veins I'd have been raging.

That is true but it was still the wrong decision none the less. So it should not take away from the poor decision that was given imo.

Didn't Olic have his back to Cesar? I dont remember it ever looking like that. I could be wrong but from what i remember Olic had his back to Cesar won the ball without even touching the goalkeeper?

It's the suggestion that the goal was ruled out because of some kind of pro-Brazil favouritism that I object to. Maybe it was a poor decision, but it was the same decision that practically every other referee in the world would have made.

Yes but his raised his right arm to face level. and from the referee's stand point ( I think anyway) it looked like he used it to push him off the ball. It seemed that way to me in post match analysis.

Shocking amount of cheating here.

You can see there is no resistence from Fred there and just immediately falls to ground. Sad to see the WC already being ruined by cheating and bad decision making from refs.

Think this is only the start of it and it will get much worse the more the tournament goes on.
