I think actually a loss this bad could help Spain. If they limped through with Alonso/Xavi they'd get owned in a knock out game. Being so bad today might be the thing that forces the change. Start Fabregas/Martinez for those two, Villa upfront, Pedro for Silva and you have a completely different, team, much more physical, much more pace on the wings and a brilliant and intelligent striker.
 
Why have the Spanish stopped playing tiki taka?

They seemed to have switched to an absolutely pants way of playing. The Dutch are not having to be that great to destroy them.
 
Robben thinks he shouldn't dribble in his own penalty area; looks round to see Torres bearing down on him and thinks why not.
 
Just how awesome would it be if Der Nederlends did this in every game and LvG decided to stay on? :D

Del Bosque will never drop him, he has his favourite players who he always plays when they dont deserve to.

Look at Torres ffs, Llorente scored like 19 goals this season and he brings Torres who has been useless for the passed 4 years.

Diego Lopez should be starting for Spain.
 
I still can't believe it, losing badly, being completely outplayed and you bring on Torres.......

As luca said, there certainly seems to be either manager favourites, players the manager don't like or don't know. He seriously doesn't seem to like certain players and there is literally no excuse for bringing on Torres over others.
 
To be honest, it's really 5-0. Dutch scored all their goals on the fly, spain only got theirs through a dubious penalty.
