FIFA World Cup 2014 - GROUP D [Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy - 14/19/20/24 June] **spoilers**

Sturridge has been poor today. Has had the chances, can't deny that really. We look dog awful at the back again
Smalling lucky not to walk aswell, horrific challenge.

You chose the worst possible angle, where his foot doesn't even show. Well done. You can see he 'shot' the other guy's foot and he didn't go in studs first. The studs came with the momentum.

If you really wanted to show a bad tackle, show this at least.

No they should have just played them in the formation they play for Liverpool but substitute Suarez for Rooney. Most of the work was done for them by BR.

Rooney should never be used at this level as anything other than a blunt instrument to unbalance teams. (Which worked well for the first 20-25 minutes against Italy but they were still trying to make the play through him).

Sterling<>Sturridge<>Wiltshire (but Gerrard instead) is what they should have been doing the first 2 matches :S Completely under-utilised in the first 2 matches to try and play Rooney.

I think starting a county isn't logistically possible, Wilshire has been good though. What he needs is smart usage by Arsenal, protection from a competent medical staff and a run of games without injury. His passing has been a mile above anyone else for England across the three games, he's picked out multiple realy smart through balls both behind the defence and just to get past midfield and get an attack going.

His movement is good, he's a great player but not in the form he'd be in if he was playing 30+ league games with some sensible resting and management from a medical side.

The problem is you take one player out of a system and the system falls down, Milner's runs, movement and delivery was very poor. I think Sterling on for Milner with Lallana, Wilshire and Sturridge given a half a dozen games to gel could be brilliant.

I don't know why people are expecting effectively a team that hasn't played together like this before to be gelled together instantly. You can't create a new system or line up in the third game of the group stage and expect brilliance.
