FIFA World Cup 2014 - Round of 16 [28th June - 1st July] **spoilers**

When do we start a Klinsmann for England manager petition?

Klinsmann, come manage England! We have:

Weather that is nothing like you're used to in California
Prima dona players who aren't really bothered about the national game
A media that will chew you up and spit you out first sign of weakness
Fans who will do the same :p Including us, here :p

You'll love it here!

Why are they making out it would be some major upset if USA had won?... Who decided Belgium were so much better than them?!

Belgium third most expensive squad at the WC, USA's total value at £26m. The Belgian's have a whole host of top class players playing at the highest level, the US squad has a large amount of players from the MLS.

Arguably, as we saw last night with Iran v Germany, it doesn't really matter how talented your squad or individual players are, your work rate and commitment can play almost as large a role in the outcome.

Been an excellent World Cup so far, but that's almost it for me. Going to a wedding on Friday, and I fly out on holiday on Saturday, so I miss all of the quarter finals. I then get to watch the semi finals and the third place play-off, but am flying back during the actual final!

It don't matter what manger we have, the players couldn't give a crap about England and had one eye on their holiday before they got knocked out.

I'm disappointed that the USA didn't snatch a win or take it to penalties but to be fair to Belgium if Tim Howard hadn't had such an amazing game they would have won in normal time.

All true, but it wouldn't be surprising to me at all if this USA team that has played well in all three games in this tournament against some good teams, had beaten an average Belgium who have looked totally pedestrian so far against some of the poorest team in it. I have rarely seen USA play badly tbh. They are always hard to beat.

I don't rate Belgium tbh, but after seeing Argentina today, they must be in with a shout.

Yeah can only echo - fantastic match, best of the tournament so far.

USA's drive and determination is admirable, and the general enthusiasm from both teams also great. Other so called "top teams" could learn a lot from this.

You could count the number of players on one hand who may have not been giving 100% (Zusi for example) - as for the rest of them, every single one on both sides has given everything.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching. Would be happy if even a single game in the quarter/semis or final are as entertaining as this was.

I really liked Yedlin, the right back. Put an absolute shift in and never stopped running. Bloody quick too! Great game and so refreshing to see the US playing with heart, soul and pure determination. Something you rarely see from the England players. Some of them were dead on their feet by the end.

Great performance from the yanks today! Really enjoyed that match, although I think the better team deserved to go through. Can only rely so much on your defence.
Klinsmann has done a fantastic job so far with the team, hopefully he keeps it up.
That or he's retiring to be a baker!
