FIFA World Cup 2018 - GROUP A [Russia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Uruguay - 14/15/19/20/25 June] **spoiler

because they didnt win the correct games required by the rules of the competition. pretty simple. who cares about there points / pre playoff games.

more teams should get to play in the world cup not less. it is after all a World cup not a european cup

The requirements for qualifying were set out way before a ball was kicked and Italy agreed to those, they didn't meet the criteria and thus didn't qualify tough poop.

These rules are utter rubbish. Let's promote useless bunch of morons from Oceania and Papua New Guinea but some of the best teams in the world should be thrown way.
Doesn't make much of a sense, shall it?

First of all, 32 teams isn't enough. They should be 64.
Second is, the European teams shouldn't have playoffs with other European teams but with these from Africa, Asia, South and North America and Oceania.
For example, each playoff could be in 4 games, 2 games with each team home side, and 2 games on neutral field.

It would be millions time more fair to have a playoff Italy vs Panama or Italy vs Tunisia or Italy vs Australia.

Stick to the European Championships in future, you'll prefer it. Now that's enough of this, Italy didn't qualify, tough ****. Back to discussing this group and the games within it.

Salah not in the starting lineup for Egypt, huge blow for them.

Can't see anything but a straight forward Uruguay win now.

Egypt playing too defensively and relying on some rough dirty pushes for offensive - gonna lose in the long run with that kind of tactic.

EDIT: Literally as I posted they find some confidence LOL
