Costa's first was pretty epic too, considering he took on 3 defenders on his own and pinged it in from the edge of the box

I think Spain threw that away slightly, in that 10-15 minute spell in the 2nd half after the Nacho goal where they slowed the game down considerably - yes they were keeping possession easily but a lot of it was around the 1/2 way line.

With Ronaldo in the other team there is always a chance of an outrageous free kick (or a blindingly stupid "tackle" , which ever way you want to look at it).

No one would ever save that, nigh on impossible

That's the wall's job for that side, it was in the top corner. He would have had to started moving from the other side of the goal before Ronaldo's foot hit the ball to be able to get over to that side in time, which he isn't going to do before his foot met the ball.
