Watching this on Beeb1 - I'm sorry, but the female commentators in general are so poor. I know I'll get called misogynist or whatever, but they are so, so awful, it makes the game worse for me. Long periods of silence punctuated mostly by just saying the player's name on the ball, or something utterly dull like "at 35 he has a lot of experience". Wow, insightful.

I think a lot of commentators are awful to be fair. I think we notice it more with female commentators as it’s not the norm so we pick up on what they’re saying more perhaps? Higher pitch too

It's not misogynistic to point it out, she's not great and there's zero chemistry between the commentators. I think the higher pitch makes it stand out a lot more than usual.

She's also very mechanical sounding, with very little inflection, or variation in her tone. It's very monotone and very, very grating. She's just going through the motions and it's constant distraction whenever she speaks.

I've heard worse commentary, however she could do with whatever coaching Phil Neville received, because he was awfully monotone when he first did a game - but this lady usually commentates on the women's footy and she's always this drab.

Keown is terrible btw.

Criticism is not bitching. Unless you think everybody expressing an opinion which isn't gushing praise is "bitching".

I'm glad you're not distracted but for some of us it's a very real issue which affects enjoyment of the game. Ergo not "bitching".
