I think the referee needs to blow and stop play right away as well, it's stupid playing on for 1-2mins and then pulling everything back.

Indeed.

In cricket (admittedly not when it was first implemented but once it had matured they came to the idea) they now have Umpires Call where if the decision is within the margin of error of the equipment they stick with the original call of the umpire be it out or not out.

There needs to be the same sort of equivalent in this, let the ref make a call as normal go to VAR if you want but if it's not obviously wrong stick with whatever the Ref said. Doing 100 slow mo's etc makes it always look worse than it was.
 
I’m guessing the goal posts are thicker than the line by the looks of things, as that looked tight.

VAR, while helpful, is killing most of the excitement. Can't even celebrate a goal properly for fear of it being taken away.
 
Should have been 3-1 there.

They need to do the video-ref like they do in Cricket and Rugby - with big screens so everyone can see what they're considering.
