FIFA World Cup 2018 - GROUP D [Argentina, Iceland, Croatia, Nigeria - 16/21/22/26 June] **spoilers**

I'd fancy Croatia to beat Argentina on that performance and Nigeria spanked them a few months ago, might not even qualify from the group and they wouldn't be missed.

Feel sorry for Messi, the pressure on him is so much higher than any other footballer and he missed the penalty. The Argentinians expect to win every tournament and they simply don't have the team capable of winning without Messi performing at the very highest level.

Good defensive display from Iceland 1-1 a very good result for them.

Suddenly I'm not feeling so great about getting Argentina in the sweepstakes.

They could try, but make it 1 challenge a half and if it's deemed you're wrong you lose it, if you're right you keep it?
Only issue I can see is anything worth challenging is going to be in the penalty box and the manager won’t have a reasonable view of it.

I put Aguero down as top scorer, when he scored I was thinking that would open the flood gates, but that was exceptionally poor. Fair play to Iceland, they were extremely well drilled and disciplined but I can’t see them progressing.

So boring when a team just has 10 men behind the ball for almost half the game.

Good result for them I guess but pretty boring 2nd half.

Lmao Evra is not biased at all on his Ronaldo Vs Messi opinion

To be fair even if we did judge on international performances, Ronaldo no doubt has the upper hand.

Argentina are so damn underwhelming to watch, considering the talent they have.

Disagree. The tension of a game like that > a big team battering a small team.

Yes, this. Iceland play with what they've got, and make bigger teams look ordinary as a result. The games swing quickly and easily and so there's tension throughout.

Looking to Croatia for this one but was loving that Nigerian national anthem!

Quite like this green kit of theirs too

Depends - if teams just continue playing the style they know best and are most practised with against them (a lot of managers are reluctant to change things up even when it is clear it won't work) then they've a fair chance of holding off many teams and possibly pulling in some wins. Teams that have the capacity to adapt their play as well as out class them on individual footballing skill will break them down though.
