FIFA World Cup 2018 - GROUP G [Belgium, Panama, Tunisia, England - 18/23/24/28 June] **spoilers**

Just think, if England do go on to win the Cup, then the oft vilified Jordan Henderson would have a World Cup Winners medal, whereas the likes of Beckham, Scholes, Gascoigne, Owen, Gerrard, Hoddle, Robson, Messi, Ronaldo wouldnt. Football be crazee !

Begs an interesting question...who is the youngest World Cup winner ever? Would Alexander Arnold be a contender for that if England won?

EDIT: Ah, Pele was the youngest ever winner, I *think* Alexander Arnold would be the 2nd youngest?

Well someone has to have 2 of the 3 guaranteed games. I guess ITV had 2 out of 3 last time or at the euros? I'm pretty sure both would show their own coverage for the semis - not sure about the quarters. I'm sure England will do their best to make it irrelevant. :p

Not much point ITV doing it if BBC definitely are, the quality is awful.

The only saving grace for ITV would be if Lawrenson was on duty.

Cannot even chromcast live with ITV. Had to run to B&Q to get some aerial bits to make an extension as we have took my daughters TV into the garden so I can lay in the pool while I watch the games :cool:. Was no problem with BBC as i just chromecast it from my mobile.

Most of these players are coming off the back of a 50 odd game season and you want them to potentially play another 13 games over 6 weeks. Their parent clubs would throw an absolute fit. Part of winning the world cup is being a bit lucky and performing when it matters.

The format is fine as it is really. Without making the tournament super long and boring there isn't much they can do about the last few teams to qualify for the knockout rounds knowing which side of the draw is preferable. Most of the time teams don't have the luxury of trying to decide where they want to finish in a group without running the risk of being knocked out anyway.

it's a 21 man squad so they can rotate. These are professional athletes being paid millions, if they can't play some extra games over a tourney they should quite frankly GTFO
