FIFA World Cup 2018 - Quarter-finals [6/7 July] **spoilers**

He only looks good because they brought Jermaine Jenas in to be a pundit. JJ could make Theresa May look like a great football pundit :p

Hansen, Dixon, etc, were good. Shearer has got a bit better over the years but still one of the worse pundits.
Snob ;)

And Shearer has got worse. He makes things up as he goes along. One week something is a foul, the next it's not.

Very poor by Brazil, rather unfortunate for the OG but the second Belgian goal was sublime though.

Brazil just didn’t have enough quality finishing wise. Neymar was poor and Coutinho was shockingly bad tonight.

I think if Belgium beat France they will win the WC tbh and honestly out of all the teams, they have impressed me the most.

France vs Belgium is gonna be one cracking game.

Very wide open this WC so far with majority of the big teams out.

Can’t get over the fact that he can’t manage Everton but might win the World Cup

He did well in his first season and struggled after that. Some managers are better managing football players than buying players. Brian Clough was a similar kind of manager who needed Peter Taylor with him to get the players in.

Had to check Twitter to see if I heard Martinez correctly.

Roberto Martinez: "I've never lost a game on the tactics board. It's about the execution of the tactics.

Unreal.

I interpreted that as Martinez giving credit to the players for the win? Probably lost in translation I think.

I interpreted it as per FoxEye. How else can one interpret it?

Don't care if England win but its been a refreshing atmosphere this world cup fans and team alike.

Agree with this. Rather than the negativity and trepidation associated with England and the World Cup, it's been a refreshing change to see a relaxed squad, no media sabotage and relative success. Hasn't been overhyped but we've all got the right to be a little bit excited now :)
